Richie is one of the only techno dj's i've ever really been able to get into...
His set at system a few years ago was one of my fav parties there.

A couple of Richie stories...

I used to see him in a coffee shop on my way to school in windsor when i was in high school.

I remember one time driving down the street and seeing someone who looked terrifically out of place in the blue collar windsor environment, and thinking who is this guy dressed all crazy with his hair in his face and shaved on one side only to get closer and realize it was him.

the same repeats itself all over asia, south america and europe. Its just north america (exception of detroit) where you cant pack the place for richie (and many other good artists for that matter)

Richie is giant in ibiza and all over europe too.

Friends of mine were backpacking and met guys from ireland who worshipped richie hawtin and knew nothing about tiesto, literally!

u'd be surpised at how versatile Richie Hawtin is ..

i'm pretty sure he'll be playing a set that is appropriate with whatever visuals they plan on displaying

take a look at previous Olympics ceremonies and i won't be suprised if most of the music is very 'atmospherical' in nature. some of his work i witness overseas this summer was mindblowing.

If it wasnt for richie you might not have techno and trance sounding the way it does today.
