I never liked either of them. For An Angel sounds like cheesy pop tune to me (lacks only Madonna vocal over that piano ),and NBY sounds like... well, another cheesy pop tune.
I don't know, maybe it's just not my style

I like them about equally. They're on the list of cheese tracks that I can enjoy from time to time for some reason or another. Personally, though, I prefer tracks like Seven Ways. Much better feel in tracks like that.

I think "For An Angel" sounds gay. Never liked the track.

Well if you're not joking then I kinda agree with you. I don't like the track too much. I have it on my mp3 though

I've never gotten tired of For An Angel, and it's still among my favorite PvD productions ever. In the past few years the track has lost some favor among trance fans, but it still resonates as deeply with me as it always has. This puts me in an uncomfortable position, because I like a ton of old progressive trance, but For An Angel is widely derided by other veterans as overblown and intolerably epic. There are many trance productions I now look back on with some embarrassment, but For An Angel was never tossed out of my list. In fact, it's an exception among my long-time favorites.

I never really understood how it achieved such widespread recognition; this was never really a factor in me liking it or not liking it. I still enjoy it, and that's that. ::shrug::

Nothing But You has its moments, but at the end of the day it's just a soulless ripoff of Arctic. It has no feeling compared to older PvD productions, and was obviously designed with dollars and dancefloors in mind.

I am so sick of For an Angel that if I never heard it again, it would be too soon.

Loved it for pretty much 5 of the8 years I've been clubbing, but it really doesnt have the lastability of some of the other classics from the same era

For An Angel

Nothing But You is boring as fuck... Paul completely raped the work that Hemstock & Jennings did with 'Arctic'

i cant understand how some people can say that either one of these songs is "cheese" wtf do you mean its cheese, when either of these songs is played in a club or a set the crowd goes absolutely ballistic so i really cant understand how some people can be fucking dumb

I know. "For An Angel" is one of the best, most well known trance songs of all time. It is what got me into this music, as well as many other people. Some people like to label anything that is uplifting and melodic and not dark, dreary, super deep or banging hard "cheese". That stuff is fine too, but some people like music to uplift them, to have a beautiful melody, to take their mind off the stressors in their life or in the world. Music is an escape, no different from movies and books. Just because it's uplifting and melodic doesn't mean it's cheese. If that was the case, then there's a lot of quality uplifting, melodic trance that would be considered "cheese" in some people's mind. Cheese is cheaply made, commercial crap, not anything that is uplifting, melodic and popular. What's wrong with beauty in music?

I'm not a fan of "Nothing But You" but "For An Angel (PvD's E-Werk Club Mix)" is like I said, one of the best trance songs ever made. It is one of those timely classics that people will look upon years from now and still wont get tired of! I sure wont .

Well, people go "ballistic" to Britney Spears, so what's your point?
