on the internet, it's 200GB, but in reality, only 60GB.

Posted by djpaulc on Jan-23-2006 17:58:

Roughly:

200 vinyl
120 bought CD's
300+ burned CD's
20gb on my mp3 player
20gb on my pc

absolutely no idea how many songs that is in total.

Posted by keithos27 on Jan-23-2006 18:53:

Approximately 10,800"

Posted by Cloud on Jan-23-2006 18:56:

1 vinyl :A Pier Bucci track
30 albums/Cds
and about 1500 mp3s

it is really small

I have just under 200 legitimate CDs, which is split roughly evenly between artist albums, compilations and singles. A lot of the albums are double or triple disc though, so in reality I have well over 200 "CDs" in a physical sense. I also have a further twenty or thirty copied CDs and a small amount of MP3s.

And if you didn't pay for your music, you have no right to brag about it.

That spawned my great delete...i deleted 90% of it and now am stuck with a collection that i love...more importantly that i listen to.

Large overbaring music collections are for n00bs that think if they have every thing ever made they are some how bigger fans.

Quality over quanity any day.

I keep all the stuff I like. I hardly ever sell stuff!
Usually if I sell anything I sell it because there's a "Special Edition" of it available. I'm a bit of a n00b that way!

Posted by GUBostonDubs on Jan-24-2006 00:22:

My record collection minus a few I haven't added yet...

my record collection

+ about 200 cdrs with at least 7 tracks on each...

a decent sized arsenal of music...

Posted by swanson on Jan-24-2006 00:54:

artist albums ....................................................15
vinyl .............................................................4
mix cds ..........................................................49
live sets ........................................................67
MP3's ............................................................5-6K

remember folks - you only have 2 ears.

Posted by DJ_LG on Jan-24-2006 01:05:

300+ vinyl. That's all that matters to me really.
50-60 cd's.

Apparently Pee Wee Ferris (AUS) has over 30,000 Vinyl!
I was in the record store and the guy behind the counter (DJ Weaver) offered to catalogue the collection for 2 grand!
Thank god for discogs!

if it was catalogue AND rip to WAV i'd pay him...

i know of someone with 80,000 vinyl... 40,000 of which were caught underwater by hurricane katrina.

Posted by lacksesepsotygh on Jan-24-2006 02:04:

jesus, that must suck. and how the hell can you keep track of 80 000 vinyls?

Posted by epdarks on Jan-24-2006 03:12:

Wow, you guys are intense. PROPS to the people who actually PAY for their shit! Thats dedication.

I personally, am way to broke to buy albums or vinyls, when I get out of school I plan on paying my dues to the artists I love.

I have 60-70 sets and I thought that was impressive.

Posted by PersianMafia on Jan-24-2006 03:35:

33 Vinyl/Records - http://www.discogs.com/collection?user=arashk

23 CDs/Albums/Compilation - http://www.discogs.com/collection?user=arashcd

I have more non-electronica related CDs from back in the day, but they aren't organized and most of their cases are beat up. Someday I'm gonna refurbish them and add them to my cd collection shelf. I like my CDs to look mint or as mint as they can look. I cherish my small collection. I don't have much incentive to buy vinyl since I don't have TTs, but that occasional stop at the record store is too tempting.

Posted by ThaMaestro on Jan-24-2006 10:12:

100 GB of sets (dunno if its smart to tell this ...)
100 vinyls (maybe a bit more)
20 cd's/album's
20 GB of single mp3's

Posted by Simcut on Jan-24-2006 13:12:

Smile

Gonna post info about what I have when I get home, I worked it out though that I've spent over 17,000 on vinyl since 1998, fuck me thats scary :-(

I bet Juno & Chemical love me :P
