Again, i KNOW Kobe's a great player, but compared to Jordan?
Not even debatable.....

Well we all know MJ is 'better'(my fav), but in sports we have to use stats to compare. In that sense Kobe is really carving a name for himself.

As much as Pat is a great coach, this is a pretty bogus statement. Sure Kobe attempted 66 shots combined, but does he mention that he scored on 46 of those attempts?? That my friend, is a 70% shooting percentage combined which is insane...

naw, he was 28 for 46 (which includes 3's) which is ~60%...still nothing to sneeze at, but nothing extraordinarily special in terms of single game FG%.

Kobe is one the greats, no doubt...but a 45% FG% on the year is not terribly special. IMHO, he's so good because he's a total package...scores from all over the court (perimeter, drives, 3's), good defender, passer, etc.

As much as I have not liked Kobe in the past, you cannot help but give him credit for this type of performance. Even Jordan, a 1 man shooting circus was 'only' able to manage 63 points as his greatest feat.

...

a great performance, sure...but I bet Jordan relishes his 6 rings, 5 MVPs and two gold medals more than Kobe will enjoy his scoring performance

But Kobe has his titles too...maybe he's happy enough with that and wants to increase his individual status in NBA history...I dunno.

FWIW, Jordan equals or beats Kobe in just about *every* statistical category...regular season or playoffs...and is arguably the better defender of the two as well.

Sorry, my statline was combining all of his shots taken (including free throws)
