I'm quite honoured to see a track of mine in the finale but the maker of the poll made a small typo. It's 'Silent waves' instead of wave
silent wave or swing 2 harmony, so tough to choose...
swing 2 harmony

I respect your opinion, but asking people to "please make sure perasma doesnt win" is not the same as give your opinion. And mine is that Aftermarth is the most overrated tune of the year and very very poor for the musical scene. But i dont ask people to not vote it, i think they must vote the tune they like the most.
PURPLE HAZE FTW!
and now, for a personall opionion. why are so many people voting for aftermath??? dont get me wrong it is most deff a fucking awsome track, but wouldnt it be more considered house than trance?

| Originally posted by DJ RJT Fair enough, but bottom line, in my opinion Swing 2 Harmony is a poorly produced, predictable, go no-where piece of McProg Cheese that has absolutely no right to be compared to tracks like Aftermath and Silent Wave, which are both phenomenal tracks. The fact that Swing 2 Harmony made it this far and a track like Arcadia was eliminated in round 1 absolutely shocks me, which isn't to say it should be TOTY, but it's got S2H beat by miles... |
Mike Foyle vs. Signalrunners - Love Theme Dusk
although i would have to say the best song was DJ Orkidea - Killa [ Dallas Superstars vs Orkidea Remix ]

Arcadia is the track you just described, not Swing 2 Harmony. I voted for Swing 2 Harmony. And personally, I don't see how Silent Waves was the Jonas production in here, I thought Castamara would be in here instead. |
This poll keeps surprising me
I really fail to understand how a track like Prya - Aftermath can really get so many votes!
I had to dig it out and listen to it again yesterday and i fail to find how it can even be within 500 mile radius of qualifying for the "Track Of The Year" top-8.
Heck, it's unbelievable!
How can it have more votes than "Tilt - Twelve" or "Kuffdam & Plant - Summerdream" is beyond my understanding.
If it wins TOTY poll, it would be another low for Trance. It would be so embarassing for me to even tell my friends that this track was actually voted as the best track of year 2006.
A serious question - is there a remix or something of Prya - Aftermath that is really very cool or something. I'd love to try that. Cos the original is a long drawn monotonous track with a big drag. No build up, no breakdown, no surprise tune, no attention-catching note, no peaking out - it just keeps going on and on (And no, not like on and on as in Orbital - Halycon).
It's not a bad track or anything but top-8?
Anyways, my ranking from the final-8 from the list is as follows:
Perasma - Swing 2 Harmony
Kuffdam & Plant - Summerdream
Tilt - Twelve
Mike Foyle vs. Signalrunners - Love Theme Dusk
Dogzilla - Without You
Jonas Steur - Silent Wave
Purple Haze - Adrenaline
Pryda - Aftermath

"Aftermath isn't very impressive on headphones. But it truly shines like nothing else in a club environment"
I get your point and maybe this track sounds different in a club environment - i have felt that for many other tracks at different times.
And admitedly, i haven't come across it in a club environment.
But tell me something - are we gonna look at the Trance "Track of the year" poll through the sole prism of the dance floor/club environment or are we gonna look at how a track features overall -
in club, in your car, while driving, while listening at home, at work etc?
Hard to choose. Voted for Adranaline. Was thinking of voting for Without You but went for Adrenaline at the end.

i don't like any of them, but want aftermath to win all the same... its the only one that really stands out.

voted for Foyle because he's a TA and those who have followed his work in the amateur producers forum have seen him just get better and better over time.

whut da heck? Silent waves leads?? After all those previous rounds where swing 2 harmony got so many votes?
Stop voting for stuff that isn't Twelve!
Woooo Love Theme Dusk has made it into the final round !!! Go the signalrunners.
i hardly ever come into the MD section but strolled in here today.. and saw the poll so i jumped in on it..
but i was shocked to see that Jose Zamora & Damian ft. Paleday - Transatlantic (Andy Moor rmx) wasnt even given a shot to compete...
it was my #1... hands down..
but of this list i voted for Summerdream...
