stay away from the ipod, stupid ass shit software itunes.

You can't copy music on the ipod without going thru their software (it copies, but won't play)...

So i installed the stupid-ass-laggy-buggy-crappy itunes to copy some tracks on my sister in law ipod, it asked something along the lines of "matching this computer with this ipod?", pressed YES, only to witness the destruction of everything she had on her ipod...

If you like freedom, don't go with the ipod.

Anything with a proprietary software shouldn't be bought (aka ipod).

Brookstone has some pretty decent players, not too expensive either.

Yup, the iPod proprietary software issue is an issue for sure. Creative isn't too bad, though they had some firmware problems that took some time to correct with the one I have (Muvo). Basically, the player would shut off anytime you had it on radio or voice recorder.

FM recording is also handy, as I sometimes record radio sets and make them into cd's.

I don't have this version, however

I really like this one. I got it for Christmas. Fits lots and is easy to navigate. Uploading and downloading off it are a breeze too.

And it takes no batteries but recharges from the usb cable from your comp. It takes 3 minutes to charge.

Well I like my iPod video despite it all...Watching movies while waiting in line for stuff = teh ownage.

AND, I have a 2 year warranty from Future Shop...so I'm hoping in 2 years when the new sicker iPods are out, mine conveniently dies and I can get the new model!

u dont need itunes to load music into the ipod

there are standalone software that u can use such as ephpod
or plugins that can run with other media players (such as foobar2000)

noob

Buy a laptop, walk around with it attached to your belt with headphones plugged into it.

I mean heck, it comes with bonus sounds if you install windows.

Do you know if there is a way that I can put music on my Sony MP3 player without it having to be in the "Sonic" format that they have for a driver?

I have a set in Windows Media player that I can't seem to change over to the Sonic format.

Is there a way that I can get it from the Windows Media launcher onto my player? I tried doing that but it says that it is on my E drive but doesn't show on the player.

Cant you transfer them in mp3 format? if your using sonicstage to transfer your tracks then just change the setting to mp3 and it will work. At least thats the way it works with mine.
