they always say the first leg of a career are your best years, then the second leg shows how much true grit you got in your body.
why do you think it is taking tiger woods longer than everyone expected to pass jack nickalus for most majors won in golf ? of course we can blame it on distractions and boredom, but also because of the upcoming talent that is younger than him, and age.
i will say this. i cannot put federer up next to sampras, until i see federer win a match after hurling on the court and running to the restroom for the stomach cramps. hahahaha . sampras really put his body out to win a good number of games. he possibly could have stretched his career a bit longer, if he didn't push his body to the limits in his mid 20's. |
I already know that Roger is the best ever and here is why. Does anyone remember what Agassi said after the US open last year? Andre said something to the effect of, "Roger is definelty the most talented player I have ever played against." Now think to yourself who Agassi has played; Rafter, Sampras, Stich, Courier, the list goes on and on. So that sums it up right there. There should be no argument of who is better, Andre has told us.
Federer's game is absoultly sick. He has every single necessary tool to be a dominant tennis player. Forehand is nasty, backhand is even more nasty, he's got the big serve, he can play at the net, he can play defensivly, and he can hit the drop shot on the money everytime, even though he says it is his least favorite shot to hit because it ruins the beauty of tennis. I think that Andy Roddick has the skills to be better than he is, he just lacks the dedication that a great player is supposed to have. To be like Roger, you have to 100% dedicate yourself to the game, and your training routine. Andy has not done that, and I don't think he will ever do that.
On the womans side I really like to watch Justine Henin-Hardenne play. She's so small and quick. It is almost impossible to hit a passing shot on her. You have to hit like 3 winners in a row to get a ball past year because she will run everything down. And I think she is the best all around player on the womans side.
And a little something about Tiger also. We have yet to see Tiger's best golf. It is said golfers peak between the ages 30-40. Tiger just turned 30. So watch out.

Roger is still quite young and even though Agassi said that he just has to stay motivated and not suffer any horrible injuries...Federer in my eyes is in the making to be the best ever as is Tiger although Tiger is close to it since certain aspects of his game are better than anyone who has ever played...
