Oh no! I'm not familiar with some mildly successful trance producer's discography. Woe unto me for not giving a fuck about every MOR producer out there and heading off to the sinful land of Other Music.

And Sandstorm: I thought my life was better in some small way for the last few months. Then I read one of your posts again.

Where is this coming from?

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Jan-31-2006 18:58:

My fingertips, although controversially it began somewhere behind my eyes.

Posted by DOOMBOT on Jan-31-2006 19:00:

No I was just worried about the sudden outburts. Nevermind...

You're welcome to show me how it's done. And the difference is that you have to make the deliberate decision to read a review, where as I have to stomach your idiotic crap by total accident.

Tilt, imo arnt the same without John Graham,

But yeh, this is a nice track, nice tempo for a build up

Anyone can look things up on Discogs you know, there's no card you have to carry.

Posted by Dj_Es-Dva on Feb-01-2006 03:14:

Ozgur Can did do a remix. Havent heard it. Its bollocks to say you hear a single synth or 1 clap and can say oh thats rank 1 or thats moor, sure he reuses alot of stuff but you have to remember Tilt doest just equal Andy Moor.

DOOMBOT Youve just had too many people against you.

Posted by FiK on Feb-01-2006 04:02:

awesome song!

when BT played it at GK last year... whoah!!

Posted by miamitranceman on Feb-01-2006 07:54:

Everyone always jumps all over Moor like it's nobody's business. He has a distinct sound and style...so what?

wtf are you on about?

he only asked a question relative to the subject, why have a go at him over it? so what if he used discogs and saw that ozgur can did a remix, it introduces him to another piece of music doesn't it? i really dont see where your problem lies.

I didn't have a go at him. "Fuck off and use Discogs, you idiot" would be having a go at him. The point was that he could answer his question in 30 seconds by using Discogs, and also have a more reliable source than the word of some random on TA.

point taken, i misunderstood what you were saying to him. even still, at least by asking the question here, he can get user's opinions on whether the track is good or not cos i doubt there will be user reviews on discogs for such a track.

I read an interview with moor about his productions, and he never uses the same sounds in his tracks. He has never ever used the same drum sound even (apart from a kick)!! So your claims are rubbish. Sure he has his own style..but thats the sign of a good producer, and that style is harder to make than the harder trance style. His interview says he used to program synths and uses lots of different synths and programs them as he doesnt want to use sounds that are presets and anybody can use. Listen to his tracks next time...and give me a sample of where some people say he 'uses the same sounds' ...in fact he uses similar sounds to create a vibe, an atmosphere that is typical of his sound..a sound that he has helped to create...which leads me onto......

TWDK A track that helped to kick start this kind of sound, along with some leama and moor tracks and andy moor solo tracks. Go onto his website, listen to 'control me', listen to 'distance between us'... so these sound the same as any of the others? its just because you have only heard his other tracks on ASOT or something like that, he is behind many genres of music. The world doesnt know made way for lots of similar sounding tracks which were influenced by andys style. Whether you like it or not its fine.

Anyway it was one of my favourite tracks of a few years ago, and it made way for what some of you call 'twinkly' trance..but i call 'educated' trance as people who are in a club and dont like hard pounding beats can also dance to this. And yes you are right, i can hear the vocal samples you are talking about..sounds like people talking in the background...again it gives the track depth, special little touches that are always contained in their productions.

So he never uses a strong bassline with a twinkly melody? Never soaks it in reverb? And do you really think that Moor's trance and a "harder trance style" are all that's out there?

Right. So he tweaks it around a bit, but essentially regurgitates the same sound over and over?

Who's denying that? Who says that's a good thing?

Pretentious fuckwits like you annoy the hell out of me. As if you need to have some sort of education to appreciate trance. Let alone the quite stripped down, one-trick trance Moor makes. As if trance is some superior plane of musical enlightenment. And the solid beats and heavy bassline mean that this type of trance is often more pounding than higher-tempo stuff.

He's free to have an opinion. Just as religious fundamentalists are free to have an opinion. However, across the Internet I have to live down a stereotype of trance fans as pretentious snobs who herald the music as some sort of intellectual refuge within dance music. And it's bollocks. So I'm free to get annoyed at his opinion, especially when it's presented in a way that virtually says "I'm smart enough to appreciate this music, and you aren't."
