I'd like to see Jules produce a track like System F's Solstice I listen to a JJules live set, and I hear banging. And then I hear more banging...

Twilogoddess: allow me to clarify, by CDs I dont mean stuff like tranceport etc. but rather cds of live sets, such as esential mixes and the like (@ home in space, for example) those are great, and I really get into em, and while studio mixes are good, you are right, its not the same as live stuff. SO...according to the live stuff I have heard Oakie is cool, but again, I havent actually seen him, so Im probably wrong, but whatever

Thumbs down

Judge Jules can't mix for shit.

No Offense DJBeeph, Oakenjoke is for beginners. He's like pot, a gateway to other DJ's/Genres. Tranceport is practically everyone's first trance cd. He's too mellow & he spins the same fucking tracks...that perfecto produced. He's not passionate like PVD is..he's a money hungry sell out. He plays at venues rather than clubs. Does he think he's giving a concert...he barely produces! He charges 23 G's for a stale 2 hour set...tix at $45. He's overrated & over paid.

about PVD... Van Dyk..is someone where you cant really totally appricate his style unless you see him live.... you might listen to a set of his or a song of his and say well hmm its not as good as some others...but if you hear those songs or that set live youll find out that not many djs pick the crowd up and make the whole night as good as Paul van dyk...thats why hes the best!!!!

And i dont really like a set with only Fresh new trax all the time...i like it mixed up with some oldies as well... i like to be in a club and hear some classics which made me fall in love with trance in the first place!!...PVD does play a lot of similar trax but he also plays many new ones as well!!!... someone was sayingthat the Innercity,Berlin,Marc spoons bday had almost all the same trax...well first of all those sets where all spun in the same month...so i dont think it would be that much differnt!!!....i bet if someone heard 3 sets of any dj of the same month it would sound pretty similar in all three of their sets!!!

Hmmmm Mauro doesnt spin Trance!! all his sets are mainly techno/tech-house kinda stuff.... and to be honest with you His sets are fucking OFF THE HOOK!!! so hard and fresh the hard tunes he puts up make crowds crazy. Picotto is one of my fav djs as well!! but hes not a trance dj...so if you mainly into melodic and trance kinda stuff i see why you wouldnt like him...i used to not like that style either but this last year i have really appricated the syle!! i love it!!

His live sets are more energetic than his own albums: sell what people like and play what people like. A very smart DJ. I think Tiesto has gotten better recently in his work with Delerium and Armin vB. AvB on the other hand is truely a rising star, both his compilations and live sets are smooth, rhythmic, flows just like trance should flow. Packs a punch somewhere near the end. Ferry Corsten has done extremely well in the past 3 years. He consistently comes up with tracks that blow your mind away. I also agree Oakenfold is not what he used to be...

funny as fuck ... thats exactly my feelings on timo maas... every tune he puts out is fuckin awful... he gotta be the only geeza who can turn a top tune into something that makes u ave a funny turn on a pill hahaha!!!

cheered me up no ends bruv thanx

Did I say he spins trance? *Looks around and doesn't see it* Read my posts clearly. And Mauro can be a fucking bubble gum pop producer for all I care, I still don't appreciate his music. OK think about this, trance IS melodic by nature. It's what separates it from the other genres. If you don't like melodic stuff, fine listen to your house music, but it won't be trance, TranceClubber.

Damnn kid!! im sorry if i hit a nerve im just saying i see why you dont like him if your not into Techno...and to tell you truth I love trance more then any other genre of music...and i would chose it over any other kind being played...but i do like techno also....but sorry again for pissing you off wasnt ment to offend you it was simply to say how i think of picotto!

Talking

Oh to prove my point in how melody is the defining factor of trance music, look at what trance was and look how it is now. While many DJs evolved their style, one thing that they still have in the music they produce: melody and rhythm (not just beats, true rhythm). Don't think you're trendy cuz you like "harder trance", you may be confusing it with house, which has been there for a long time and has its own group of fans. I won't criticize anyone who likes house, although I express my dislike for the genre blatantly. Personally I'm not a house fan. Don't like it? Tough. That's why I'm here and not at housEaddict or some BS place like that.

TranceClubber, no harm done dude.

Those of you who don't like Mauro and Timo, take a listen to CRW (any track) or Orinoko "Mama Konda" which just happens to be aliases for the two. It seems that these guys can do *both* melodic and groovy stuff, unlike Tiesto & AvB who seem to be producing music from a recipe.
Like it or not, Picotto and Maas style is rooted in trance, and just because you don't like this particular sub-genre don't tell us who do to fuck off.

Posted by breakdown on Feb-28-2001 22:35:

armin and tiesto ARE playing from a recipe.. but a recipe THEY created..
and i gotta say.. CRW is not Picotto And Maas..
CRW is Picotto and Remondini

Shame / Disagreement

Trancaholic fuck you for saying I criticize fans of those DJs. There are millions of them out there and it's pointless to point to every single one of them and say "you're listening to the wrong kind of music." There is no wrong kind of music, whore. And you know that from when you're a 5 year old. Saying why music those people play suck and saying why it sucks is not the same as telling their fans to fuck off.

If I wanted to do that, I'd PM you, write "FUCK OFF" and hit send, and what would that achieve in the end? Nothing. So don't think I've enough time and that anyone is dumb enough to do that.

And also "recipes" are what defines a DJ's style. There is absolutely no DJ in the world who doesn't follow a recipe they like themselves. This is a DJ's personal style and comes from the heart. You can't expect it to change every 3 months.

Hey,....

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, WOW!

you too should hook up or something.
Whats with all the swearing? Kiss and make up the both of you.

I never mentioned your name POOF or quoted your post...somehow you must fit the profile..Nice language though, it's one of the things that keeps attracting me to this board: People airing their views in a mild and friendly manner...

btw. infinity I meant to add a "respectively" to my sentence about CRW and Orinoko, although seeing my post again, I can see it being misleading. Thanks for clearing that up.

Cool

The reply came right after my post. You should be more careful not to reply w/o telling people who you're replying to. But "don't tell us who do to fuck off" sounds like some fighting words to me!

No harm no foul hehe.
