I was falling down laughing at work today when I saw this picture... I'm all too familiar with *the washing machines*. The first time I saw a group of them, I thought, "WTF are those people doing?! And WHY oh WHY?!" But now, I've grown accustomed to their presence. I've even been approached by groups of them who wanted to recruit me to increase their washing power!

cracked out older (usually) asians and the way they dance

usually the guy holds the girl by the shoulders and turns her from side to side while both of their heads go back and forth, back and forth as they swish back and forth, like a washing machine

or you get the guys that put their hands on their hips and stick their elbows out and swish from side to side elbowing everyone in their path.

and to see them in their natural habitat: spundae and avalon, is clearly a sight to behold. they attend more big name trance shows than house but they are there just not as many

Pefect definition. This one should be in the books

Birth of a Washing Machine

Now that we have the definition... Does anyone have any ideas about the history of the washing machines? Where did they come from? How did they become washing machines? Is it a choice? Or are you BORN that way? Are there any recovered washing machines out there? Don't they get DIZZY?!

I think that's the point.

What are they on?

In Taiwan, ecstasy's nickname is "shake your head." It most likely started there and just filtered its way over.

What happens if you *shake your head* while you're on ecstacy? (Other than you looking like a washing machine!)

I've always wondered . . .

1) What exactly are they on (probably a combo of stuff ? because at Avalon you see them sorting up stuff on the dancefloor)

2) How their brains function during the week at their daily jobs? I mean, it seems that they party WAY too much almost every weekend (at least when I go out, which isn't very much, I see the same washing machine couples over and over again).

approximalia <- You should let them try and recuit you so you can give us the inside scoop to the secrets of the washing machines

ROFL Actually, the few washing machines I've tried to communicate with didn't seem to know much English! That could be a problem. But the idea of being a spy in the washing machine community amuses me...
