Bullshit. Whilst in America, I've read 'instructions' on the back of packets of peanuts explaining how to eat them correctly, so that if the spastic eating them starts to choke, they cannot sue the peanut company. As pointed out already, only in America. Makes me sick to my stomach.

You can tell right off the bat that Erotic Buddha is one of those fat retards that tried to sue McDonalds for getting obese. And probably won as well. You make me sick.

As to topic:

LOL, only in America.

Posted by jdat on Feb-03-2006 13:43:

I don't know if this is something that's said in other countries but I know that in France they always say the US is 10-20 years "ahead"..

Well if you people had any clue you'd realize that this sueing society in the US or belief that anyone can sue anyone over anything is most certainly shifting outside of the US but most extreme cases are still over there.

In the past year for example someone sued for money in China because they had their virtual land stolen in an online video game( I believe they won). I mean seriously in communist China they're even having stupid lawsuits happening so that speaks tons about the spread of the lawsuit frenzy.

Look around in your own damn countries around the world and realize that the chaos is already there.

Posted by Redd on Feb-03-2006 13:57:

Way to go defensive Erotic Buddha.

Somewhat ironic that an Israeli showed up to defend the US

Lets all sue him for suing. I'm sure it's gonna work as long as we do it in.. yeah you know.

The Fast Fourier Transform should prove his right.

In Belgium, you can hire a lawyer for free, it's your right (of course, not all lawyers participate in this system; I think the government pays the bill, not sure thou, but who else eh?). I bet the Americans go OMFG on that one. +1 for the socialists.

BT better win...

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Feb-03-2006 15:56:

America has 50% of all the world's lawyers. What does that tell you? A country filled with people who will exploit the law for every dollar they can get. It's a lie to pretend that this greed is a "minority" in America, because in nowhere else on Earth is it so concentrated. Compared to every other nation on Earth (5.75 billion people) it's excessive. 1/48th of the world having half of the lawyers. Wake up to the shit you're shovelling- you're so used to it you can't even smell it any more.

So yes, only in America.

You are right, but unlike the 17th century, BT cant resolve this issue with pistols at dawn.

Y'never know. This idiot may be a pretty straight shooter, and BT strikes me as the type to have never touched a firearm.

Now, a sword fight. That'd be tight. Granted, that may still leave BT at a disadvantage. I think, in the end, he's better off resolving this is court, because he can't possibly lose. Or one would hope. The jury could very well be made up of impassioned copyright-wingers who also just happen to have a beef with dance music because of the drug content. That's the part that really pisses me off.

The saddest part of this is that lawsuits are considered shameful in traditional China. This is the society that I thought would adapt to lawsuits slowest, but Westernization is, unfortunately, too strong and swift a force for even the middle kingdom to put a stop to.

Of course, it may also seem like smartass hokus pokus to the jury, which will probably have an average educational level of high school.

Hehe, Britain's guilty of that, too, you know. As well as any other nation where English is the official tongue.

On the subject of frivolous lawsuits, I notice that a guy from Louisiana is suing Apple for not providing adequate warning that an iPod is capable of being loud enough to damage your hearing. DON'T TURN IT UP SO LOUD THEN YOU FUCKING IMBECILE!

What does it change? Hell, if anything it discredits my argument because asshats like you can say "how convenient, now I'll assume he's lying through his teeth to prove something". Believe what you want. Go to any other nation in the world and look at how many law suits there are, and what the causes are. It's the same with advertising- Americans are so ridiculously bombarded by it everywhere that they don't even realise how bad it is.

No need to attack me like that you tool

As far as I can tell I don't think I've been patriotic for America in my replies and I was only trying to understand.

It's good your realize the irony and the fool you made out of yourself by making the statement that 50% of the lawyers in the world being in the US and not being able to prove it.
Well maybe it's true to some extent but let's not start a contest of what country is better than the other.
You tell me look around the world well I can honestly say I know very few people who have travelled and lived in more countries then me and honestly everywhere on this planet has it's own flaws, some bigger than others yes, but all have their own flaws. Like I said the chaos starts in the US and slowly spreads abroad and potentially worldwide.
