People believe in intelligent design "because it says so in the bible" and they completely dismiss evolution. The most dramatic view of this that creationists don't want to accept is that evolution does not lead to atheism nor does it prove non-existence of a divine creature.

Creationist knee-jerking arguments against evolution and the Big Bang rely on no data whatsoever, except what is said in the Bible. Steven Hawking in his Brief History of Time states in the first paragraph, that Big Bang Theory does NOT rule out god and that for all we know, god is the answer to the physicists' mysterious question of why the Big Bang happened.

What creationists fail to see is the other side of the coin, they fail to consider all possible arguments and outcomes. They can never even suppose that the Bible may be deceiving them and that creating Earth in 7 days, the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve, make far better literature than billions of years of gas slowly condensing into cellestial bodies. If it took god 7 days to create Earth, how long does the Bible say it took him to create the rest of the universe?

The point is that evolution is true, whether God exists or not. It may or may not be God's tool, but in no way does it challenge the existence of God, which seems to be the biggest problem creationists throw fits about. Evolution did not kill God, in fact, evolution and God work together very well if you're willing to accept that.
