Involver is alright. The tunes are nice and it is a neatly flowed mix comp but I still don't see why everyone gets so excited about it when it is brought up. It is perfect driving music, or for when you are chilling at home playing video games or smoking a J. But again, there is nothing exciting about the mix at all. I've yet to listen to Fundacion, but considering how much Sasha bores me I'm not in any rush to either.

Why would anyone bother? It's not going to change your opinion anyway. The fact that you think it's just another mix compilation says it all, really.

huh? of course it won't change my opinion, but i'd still like to hear why some people think it's so brilliant, because i honestly don't see why it is.
and i don't think it's just another mix compilation, i think it's more like some tracks sasha edited put together. the mixing on it is IMO in no way spectacular.

So saying "involver has to be one of the crappiest mix comps ever" is the same as saying it's nothing special? Sounds right

just wanna say sasha's mixing capabilities by far surpass many professional djs out there. a mix on a compilation is different than a live mix in a club, so before you judge his talent, take some time to see him master the decks which you probably won't get to see since he's using abelton these days...

i've seen sasha mix without cueing up the next track...and by that i mean he stood there, put the record on, headphones were resting on a turntable and he just brought it in flawlessly. i've heard this arguement before that any dj that plays the same set over and over again has the capability of doing that but for some reason, i've never seen paul, tijs, even diggers do that. And this was live in a club for BPM's DJ Award party in NYC @ Crobar. Needless to say, pvd went on after Sasha and clearly did not move the room like sasha did. granted the man has his own genuine sound just that he did not out do sasha on this night (not to mention when will you ever see pvd and sasha back to back in 1 party)

i've watched sasha and diggers since the twilo days...i've always thought his sound was ahead of it's time and many people have had the same position as you do, those who don't see what's so special about it are usually the ones who haven't forecasted where this scene/culture is moving towards.

a good example of this and at the time clearly was ahead of it's time was Airdrawndagger.

all this has nothing to do with involver and that's what i was talking about. and what does an "artist album" have to do with djing ability anyway?

He did a good job of dodging the point at hand, ya gotta give him that.

Isn't that the point? I don't think it was supposed to be a full blown dj mix compilation. It was supposed to be somethng more along the lines of a showcase of Sasha's own little edits, what he calls the future of djing, and his Ableton skills/tricks - you know, like that whole Petter/UNKLE mash up...
