i've only dated one TA, she's actually a NYTA and i talk to her once in a blue moon

but to reply to erin's earlier statement, a girl's musical preference is definitely important to me. if music is such a big part of our lives, how we think, how it makes us at peace.. then wouldn't we want to find the same in another person?

makes it so much easier to agree on what to do Friday night! And if they like blasting music around the house it's good if it's music you both enjoy...

me too. I think we are all openminded on some level whether it be popular music or underground...

before EDM i was into goth, New Wave, Alternative, Metal-types of music, Tori Amos, Garbage, early No Doubt, Radiohead, some punk, ska and emo. I followed Linkin Park across the tristate area when they were on tour. and i still am very into some of those types of music . lol we're all multi-faceted, have different sides to ourselves.

I just love listening and dancing to edm the most tho

hasn't happened through trance yet..

lotta koreans tho... lol.

dont think i'd want to date a clubbing chick

i actually don't know what type of chick i'd like cuz i'm so bi-polar with my life. i have like extreme ends and any compatibility often ends up in failure (don't need pity i enjoy being single =P)

during the day time i'm a business man suit and tie
during the night i'm chillin out with my boys "blazing mad trees son" or as jayme/highmay would put it - blazin mad izm son
and i'm definitely an urbanized street kid on that semi-fashionable tip (not your banana republic, jcrew, ambercrombie, hollister dude), but borderline punk / skateboard wear. studded belts, canvas belts, camo hats, nike dunks, with a mix of snowboard culture, edm culture, athletic, business minded and career/goal oriented. i dunno i'm like jumbolaya or something, a conglomerate of things

i think being the way i am makes it hard for me to relate to anyone because i get stuck into the things i do and often don't find someone who has similar interest so i think the whole dating culture is really over rated.

society is blahzhay about hooking up, find someone hook up, date, break up. it's a vicious cycle of mixed emotions, learning about yourself and how you deal with others. i've been single for almost a year now and it's quite the experience, comforting rather that i don't need to "go out to a club with someone" or "call someone to see what's up and what they are doing" or "to find out how their day was, or have to listen to how their day was"

romance in trance...something i wouldn't want to base my relationship on....partying is a recreation, not grounds to hold a healthy relationship. not hating on anyone who post their swoon moments in this thread, i'm happy for you...but for me...just not my thing

recreation is recreation
business is business
love is love

I did not meet my hubby on TA but we do both listen to EDM. When you live with someone its cool if they listen to the same type of music you do because you never know they could put you onto a hot track one day, share cd's etc.

brian: if u happen to 'meet someone' at a club, at work, or wherever, no happen how much you try, you can't control the way you feel about them... it can happen anywhere..!

Single. Just having good friends really helps. These days, I don't believe love at first sight. I rather know the person better enough to make a decision.

You seem to correlate restrain to relationships alot. I am like you - I can club and hang out with my friends without having to report to my gf. Her and I are like best-friends; we each have seperate lives and we live them. Ultimately, I guess it depends on the type of girl you are dating.

On the other hand guys, she is really open to EDM and seems to be enjoying--just recently I gave her ASOT year mix(my favorite ASOT).

Nah, dude I know her well . One time she flirted with a guy and told me because she felt guilty...I trust her 100%

I'm kind of with Brian on this one. I've always considered myself a jack of all trades when it comes to style. I'm not preppy enough, or punk enough, or emo enough, or trendy enough, or metro enough, or scene enough... etc for a girl of that particular style to dig me.

Posted by SpinMars on Feb-09-2006 00:18:

How's this for romance and trance?

its nice to be diverse like that

i find being one way or classified as a particular style kind of boring

lets say multidimensional?

hard to find a girl who can relate to that lifestyle...it'll come one day...

I wish people were way more open minded when it comes not only to music but every facet in life..........

Pop in some Dvorak, 311 and PvD? I'm set And any guy that can hang with that is truly special, just like me haha no, he is. Oh yes, and he busts out crazy metal stuff, and I start bobbing away.

Oh and yea I am open minded to EDM.....and I still consider myself a "non-edm" listener since I am open minded to other types of music, perhaps EDM listeners should do the same!!!

LOL. Well you know I was kidding of course .

EDM listeners are open minded, at least I am. From what I see in this board mainly, alot of people are openminded about other genres of music. I am not a big fan of whats popular is good, thats why I dont listen to radio at all. I appriciate good music, and there is plenty of great non-edm music out there. I have a collection of classical CDs, rock n roll, etc etc. The new stuff nowdays is pure bullshit and annoying. All the little kiddies are making music. I just dont appricate anything that usually comes out nowdays as much as music from 10-20 years ago. Even with trance, its going downhill, its been going down. Lately, ive enjoyed house alot, but trance always does it no matter what.

Anyways, your wrong about edm listeners being close minded when it comes to music.

I agree, EDM listeners are one of the most open-minded people I know.
