and lets not forget that most effects boxes, if not all (i can't say all cuz i havent played with all of em) sound horrible!!! If you are a pro at mixing and want to add some more stuff to your mix, get a really nice sampler, add some cool sounds to it, and then sample some live sounds.. now that takes skill and that adds something to the music. Some day I hope to be able to pull that off.
i think efx boxes are more for house, where there is no music to begin with =)
dazzed
Yeah i agree fxpool is just 4 dj's who can't mix like a pro ... i have just a simple mixer ... hehe sometimes it drive's me crazy but i know i will have the profit of it.
I love that mixer, Im thinking of getting the pcv175
New pics!

hmm.. my best advice to you *btw you got some sick ass equipment there.. and to know that you just started out and u got those things, you should have no problems.. you are much luckier than some of us that started on some old stank belt-drive tables.. going from those to techs makes a big difference.. but anyways, just keep working on getting your beats to match up.. a big piece of advice is to KNOW your records, know when each part of the song is coming and when its about to end.. most patterns in 4/4 time run on an 8 beat loop.. so when you feel the beat, count to 8 and it should repeat or change to a different lick.. but for starters.. just get ur beatmatching up to par, then worry about mixing and good transitions
Hmmm i got my decks for under $1000
$940 to be exakt + $50 on My Koss Headphones.
Now im looking for a second hand mixer i was thinking last years pioneer..
nice equip dude.. post some more pics 4 us

To become a good DJ, all you really need is a simple mixer that has Low Kill, Mid Kill and High Kill. Unless you can seamlessly incorporate the FX into a song w/o killing it.....is there really a point? Take For instance the board that Armin Van Buuren uses, a Numark DM1100 (Check his website if you dont believe me), hooked to a set of Tech 1200's. Can it get better than that? Simplicity is key. Now I consider Armin a great man at the wheels of steel. He doesnt use FX. He doesnt need to. Cheers |
