No problems with burning the Salvadoran flag here.

I would have problems to burn religious symbols and books, but flags? No...

Yes, I really am ignorant, and I have the degrees to prove it.

Its not about the people, its about the fact that the administration was able to throw sucha huge cover over all these peoples' eyes enough to make them want to put him BACK in office. It blows my mind how deceptive they are.

i would burn my flag but only for one reason.


i would love to go up to tonie the wanker blair and burn the flag rite infront of him and then say look you arse hole this is what you are doin to our country.burning us out (i.e making our men and women go and fight a battle which in the first place had nothing to do with us)


but i would then go and buy two flags the US one and my flag UK and then put them at half mast for all the inoccent ppl who were killed in 9/11 and over here in the UK in 7/7.

i've got a giant american flag in my room, it takes up the entire one side of my wall. It was my grandfathers flag when he was a boy and its been passed down.


burning a flag is dishonoring to every soldier who's ever fought or died for the country. whoever does it or supports it does not understand the gravity of it, and is ignorant.

Why would I?? It's not like it actually means anything if I do it... OOH Anarchy... wow, screw that, go to the capital with napalm and gernades (and yes that can be made alot simpler than you think) and other explosive fluids and hold them hostage if you want to be a bad ass. Anyways by burning the flag you're doing more damage to the ozone layer than the U.S.

Anyways I might catch on fire and I'll be waisting good light fluid or gasoline or alcohol or whiskey or whatever the hell it is I'm using to burn the flag that could be used to burn down... whatever it is we're gonna burn down.

I think burning the flag should be illegal cause of all the fumes and shit, but vandilizing it in any other way and disposing of it properly should be legal... as long as it's officially your flag.

Funny all you Americans are strongly opposed to the idea of burning your own flag. I didn't expect any less from you tough. Why you are so pride on your stars and stripes remains a mystery to me.

Tough I voted no myself, because of the useless air polution and toxic vapours that would escape. But I wouldn't have a problem taking a dump on any countries flag

in spite of its meaning to others within the community you live in. Although the Brazilian flag (or even the general concept of nation) doesn't mean much to me, I don't see why I should take such drastic measure to something I'm indifferent to. If I wanted to show others how worthless something is to me, I'd try to gather support by linking my opinions to "positive" values, rather than sounding like an extremist and completely losing the communication bridge I could have with someone who holds that concept as a dogmatic value.

Wait, who? I thought this wasn't about people. Maybe you meant the American people then. All those weak, callow people without a thought in their heads, incapable of deciding for themselves; they're all just sheep, really. Puppets of the administration which consits of evil, plotting robots bent on the control of mankind. You will be our savior. You will destroy effigies symbolizingng ideals established by freethinkers hundreds of years ago. And as we know, the power to destroy, the power to ignite, is the power to control. And with this power you shall impose another ideal upon the masses - a small, personal ideal of freedom which will lead the people to be better citizens of their nation. In this ideal, you will be revered, and they will create a flag to comemmorate your dogmatic approach to Governent reform. Better hope that a few of your citizens don't disagree with you though - they may burn that flag with your face on it, utterly obliterating everything you stand for! They may take this power for themselves! I would suggest guarding the things you and your family have been brought up with for generations with your very life and surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals to help preserve the integrity of your ways. Maybe I misunderstood all of this though.

It's hard to go through life without degrees to look to when I need self-affirmation, and I am far more prone to making mistakes without a quality American education.
