I'm not disagreeing, but I also think that a 6 hour PvD set is worth it if he plays like he did at Roxy in November, yet everyone complains about ticket prices in the NY forum

ummm, but that party went till noon.

im guessing that doesn't happen these days huh?
and the thing you heard about someone ODing and threw that person out and they died on the street thing....that's soundfactory man...i can single handedily say that i am a witness to a person laying ontop of garbage bags outside of JPs Theme Party - Underwear Party, dude was G'd out his mind laying on garbage bags being sprayed by bouncers with a hose and I distinctly remember people taking pics of that....i walked away and didn't want to be any part of any scandal or have my name or face in any picture pertaining to such an incident. you go out to have fun, but be responsible.
twilo was shut down by mr guliani

One kid from Long Island was thrown out of Tunnel and died on the cobble stone street from an overdose of E...i think it was 98 or 99...not sure.

i remember reading about that; it was all over the news. by '99 the Tunnel had become dogshit anyways so i couldn't see it staying open for too long anyway -- the shitty, crime-ridden, gropefest vibe of mecca sundays had spread to other nights of the week.
as kidnyce said, the clubs died because of giuliani's war on nightlife. it's hard to sustain megaclubs when the police/irs/city council and mayor were after guys like gatien and marvizi daily...

yea man if your gonna do Drugs be smart about it and dont oD , know your limits I guess
but I dont hear of people oding on E any more if there oding its coke or some other hardcore drugs , the E now @ days is probly weaker then the ones they sold back in the day

someone still sells @ nowdays? Cafeine pills - maybe. Aspirin or some other crap? Probably. Some nasty derivative of em dee em ay that will para the crap out of you - 90% certainty.
Perhaps that's what's meant by "Pure PvD" - e.g. experience it on pure em dee em ay
I don't recall PvD wrapping up on time when in Twilo. If he was scheduled for 6 hour set, you can bet you'd be getting about 1 hour extra. Most hard-core partyers didn't show up until like 4am. That's when PvD started kicking shit up a notch and playing some serious bangers.

Well, I wish I could say I was around then... but from when I saw the movie, I think there are a lot of parties like that nowadays in NY... Crazy shit happens to me every weekend...
and BTW, Tini Tun was freakin amazing, great opener and when I got to see him headlining, couldn't stop shaking my ass

It is not about crazy shit. It's about the vibe. It's almost as if Twilo had a Spirit (no pun intended) and Soul. You felt home when you came there. Whether it was your first time or 100th time - it was home. Crazy, sweaty, whithering, slithering, sexy, wacked out home.
Clubbing elsewhere nowdays feels... sterile. almost like a parody of itself. People either jump and try to get noticed or stand around like at rock concert. maybe 10% are dancing. Crap, I remember circles of dancing at Twilo - where you'd get all kinds of weird break dancing or super cool popin' or amazing glow stick show. Sure, there's some now but there it was almost like a competition - you'd see people go for sometimes hours in and out of the circle. Trully an amazing thing to witness.
I miss it.
