-- So, how many of you all have I pursuaded to buy the V6's?
Pages (3): « 1 [2] 3 »
Well, like I said, don't get the V6's if you utterly NEED the sidways swivel feature. How about you simply place one earcup on your head, either in front of, behind, or above your ear, for one eared monitoring? If you find that you ABSOLUTELY NEED a side swivel feature, get the Sennheiser HD25's.
And, a question, with the amount of bass they have, AND the amount of isolation they have, would you really, really need to boost the bass? Try then on other sources than your mixer; is your mixer bass-light.
Just get your ears and brain used to their style of bass by listening to them on a variety of sources, and you shouldn't need to boost the bass....
Yes, they block out a lot of outside noise. You can test this yourself. Put them on, and make some noise. What can you hear, and what can you not hear? The amount they block out is almost always significant, but it usually is more when they are circumaural (around your ears) than supraural (over your ears). If your ears are small, they should block out a lot; if they are not, get the pads. If, after using them, you find them unable to block out enough noise after all of this, than you might want to look into the Sennheiser HD280 Pro's, although I doubt that will happen.
A good way to figure out how good these headphones are is to not only play them on multiple sources and with multiple types of music... but, after doing that for a while, to go back and listen to your OLD headphones with those sources and types of music. You should see the faults of your old headphones much easier after getting accustomed to the V6's.
Gluegun:
I havent been too active in this "v-6" discussion, but believe me, I've been reading your posts and well, you have persuaded me to buy the v-6 headphones...
Quick question, if you cant find the v-6 you said the mdrv-7506 are just as good right? Because those are the ones i picked up, and to tell you the truth, they are amazing....much lighter than the 700's and honestly, fit my ear very well...im surprised that they create such dynamic bass...thanks for the advice..but i hope the 7506 are the same if not just as good as the v-6's...peace.
wow.. u guys basically convinced me to get a pair.. the headphones i'm using are some old panasonic ones that i think are for cd players but they broke so i gotta hold the cup up to my head.. anyways this looks like a good deal.. i've been putting off getting new earphones because all the ones in the pro sound catalogues are $100+

I got my v6's yesterday.. for 62 bucks I'm impressed
, as compared to the v700's.. I am still contemplating
ooh I know gluegun is gonna be pissed about that one, harhar!
Naw, I'm not that annoyed. These things take time. Remember, listen to lots of types of music, and lots of types of electronica, with these, on multiple sources. And, once you get used to them, do the same with your V700's. You should notice a big difference. Also, get used to the V6's in build quality and comfort--test them, tweak them, get to know them. THEN go back to your V700's; I am sure you will be more opinionated then.
Don't worry. It's inevitable. The greatest of the V700 lovers on this forum *will* fall, give it time. Maybe the Beyerdynamic pads will do it, in the end...
You know the saying, "The Bigger they are..."
You have persuaded me to persuade my brother to get the Beyerdynamic DT-250. I own the Audio Technica ATH-Pro 6 and am quite comfy with them but the DT-250 really do sound better. I should have smuggled my old phones in the box and taken the DT-250s myself
The Beyerdynamics - simply put - kick ass!
Heh, don't they, though? So, what do you like most about 'em??
harhar you thought I would be changing my icon to the v6's.. well I must admit I like em, I'm listening with them right now
I'm liken em more every day
but the icon isn't changing YET!!!!!
is the sony mdr-v600 the same thing? or are those a different model?
They're not the same!
Sony MDR-V600 was brought out to replace the 'old' Sony MDR-V6, but as it turned out, people hated the V600 since the V6 was WAY better. Sony decided to keep the V6 around at the same time but it is harder to find since the V600 is in with their 'DJ' line of headphones, which are getting most of the mainstream attention these days (even though they suck).
El~Zapo beat me to it; he is exactly right.
Yo, Inatrance! I think that, if you buy the pads (thereby increasing the comfort by a factor of 10...) you will probably wanna change your pic. You are borderline in what you want, deciding for yourself, which is good, but I think you should check that out...
YAY!!.. i just placed my order.. anyone know how long they take to ship, i live in southern california so hopefully it should be too long.. im gonna wait till i get them to see if i really need to get those other pads for the ear cup.. i hope they're as good as everyone says they are!
You'll probably get them on Wednesday is my guess.
Nice purchase, Hapa! Do you have the shipping info yet?
NO
aren't they supposed to email me the tracking # when the phones are on their way? i got no email from them yet besides the one telling me they will give me a tracking # when the item has been shipped... i want my headphones!!!
Don't worry about it; they'll get to you in good time..
damn, having too many email address gets confusing, turn out they did ship it on the 4th and its scheduled delivery date is the 11th.. thats next monday and i can't wait until i get my new headphones!.. i wouldn't normally think it would take an entire week for ups to deliver something accross the country but i guess they are slow.. speaking of slow, the us postal service gets a big thumbs down from me, i had a record shipped on 1/22 and it didn't arive until 2/4, thats a total of 13 days to get only 3000 miles.. bah.. shipping sucks because i hate waiting for stuff that i already paid for.
Not me, no way, I had a pair and hated them, I prefer my MoS DJ-1001s much more, and I do believe that the V6s are better than the V700s though, the V700s look nicer though.
Project, ever try any of the other headphones I mentioned? As you are in the UK, the V6's and 7506's wouldn't be *THAT* great of a buy... heck, the Beyerdynamic DT250-80's would be a whoooolllle lot better in comfort than the V6's, and the two Sennheiser ones are really awesome, depending on what features you need. Are you gonna consider looking at the three european ones that I have suggested?
well..
I dunno about the MDR-V6's but you convinced me to buy the Sennheiser HD280's Pro's! Cheers m8!
I tried the DT250-80s and they had a sort of tacky feeling to them, not quite sure why though. I also had a listen through some of the more expensive sony cans, and they felt fiddly and tacky, the v6s I would pick over them any day, the v6s are the best in the sony range, but I just have an extreme personal preference for the MoS DJ-1001s, I dunno why but they just go with me so well. I think headphones are about personal preference more than anything else, just as long as you try out as many models as you can. Also I tried a pair of Stanton headphones, they had a real nice sound to them, even at very loud volumes with minimal distortion, but they were built so crappy. It was like being at a good party with the speakers falling apart.
Sorry if I am beginning to rabbit on
You do realise that you have so incredibly have to try the two Sennheisers now, don't you? And, I dunno, if there is anything I wouldn't call the Beyer's, it's "Flimsy".. they are pretty tank-like...
http://head-fi.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=3955
I didn't call them flimsy, just tacky
I have a pair of cheap Sennheisers for producing, I've never had a look at the better Sennheisers as I've always associated them with production purposes. Just out of interest, how many pairs of cans do you have, coz I know I don't have a bottomless pit of money, and you must have a few pairs to be so experienced in this field
Ur user status shud be: HeadPhonEaddicT
No, my status is more of "Head-fier" or "Headwizer"...
Anyways, I own the Grado SR-60's, the Koss KSC-35's, the Koss KSC-50's, the Beyerdynamic DT831's, the Sennheiser HD565's, and the Sony MDR-EX70LP.
And, yes, I HAVE used the 7506's!
What I meant was, that, since you are in Europe, you should check out the HD25 and the HD280 Pro's for DJ mixing purposes...
Do you have one of the EH### Senn's? Or one of the open ones? They came out with a new open model, the HD497, which supposedly kicks major ass in sound quality, though it is supposedly quite subpar in build quality and looks...
