Better sound, quicker, nicer. ftw!
...and Apollo for mp3s.
one of the best things in winamp IMO is the ability to enqueue tracks from the playlist to be played next. does foobar or apollo offer this?

Less than a month after releasing a security update to Winamp, Nullsoft has delivered a new version of the media player to plug serious bugs. Winamp 5.2, issued Thursday, tackles a vulnerability in the software's handling of m3u playlist files, according to a developer posting on an online forum from Nullsoft, a division of America Online. An attacker could put together a specially crafted m3u playlist to cause the computer to crash when the user pauses or stops play, according to an advisory from Secunia. It may also allow an intruder to execute code. The "highly critical" flaw affects the most recent versions of Winamp, versions 5.12 and 5.13, the security company said.

Originally posted by Purple You see Winamp is generalised as a software which plays all file formats like wav, mpeg etc... so it plays same quality for all. But Apollo is 'optimised' for playing only mp3 tracks, so the user end sound quality is much better than what I used to get from winamp. You will realise that Apollo sounds much better once you download and listen to same track played in winamp and than apollo. For more info in better english you can check the thread mentioned in first post of second page of this thread.

Originally posted by Mr.Mystery No, what I mean is what do you mean by "better sound quality" exactly? What I want from a player is to be able to play the original track as close to the original sound quality as that, and when I play CD's with WinAmp it sounds exactly the same as playing the CD's in a CD player... so if the player alters the sound somehow that's not what I want.
