i don't know how you guys are praising KLM, its pure shit too... never been on air transat though so i couldn't compare.
The KLM plane was pre-vietnam war
and its the last time i make a stop in amsterdam, awful.
AMS is one of the most boring airports in the world! I once had a 4 hour transit there, not too long, but it was HELL!
Never flew KLM or Air Transat, so cannot compare.
But if you want to travel in comfort to Europe, try BA. They do have some pretty good deals to the UK from time to time.
Or, try and find a consolidated ticket from a travel agent. You will be suprised at the deals you may find!
If anyone is travelling through Asia I highly reccommend www.jetstarasia.com
It's mainly based out of Singapore and is still new but the prices are incredibly cheap (Singapore to Taipei for 200 dollars roundtrip!!!)
Leather seats, very friendly staff, you aren't given food or drinks though...but bring your own, it's better anyways!

Air canada travel passses are the only way to roll. My last trip (to negril jamaica last week) cost me $84 for return airfare. I get unlimited for myself and my common law and 10 buddy passes a year. not bad at all.
all my years of suffering in the north are finally paying off!

I'd suggest any airline but Lloyd Aero Boliviano! well, if you happen to fly to Bolivia that is...
our plane had lost one of its engines and we had to make an emergency landing on a military airfield somewhere high in the Andes... eeek

The best international service ive experienced so far is LanChile.
-On demand movies and games at every seat,
-Chicken and salmon served with real dishes and cutlery
-Free Chilean wine with wine glass
-Unlimited alcohol
-friendliest flight staff
The flight was a bit of a milk run NYC-LIMA-SANTIAGO-BUENOS AIRES
....but well worth it. I enjoyed it 100 times more than the direct NYC-BS AS flight i took with American.
Ive heard that Singapore Airlines is pretty good too.
As for North American based airlines? Forget it! You have to buy booze, they give you hardly any entertainment, and now on all Air Canada flights within north america, you have to BUY all your food! WTF????
The only North American based airline ive ever been happy with is Jet Blue. Leather seats and 32 channels of direct tv at every seat. And when it costs $100 inc tax round trip to fly buffalo to NYC i dont mind that the only food you get is a bag of chips. (toronto to NYC with air canada is $350 and i dont even think u get so much as a peanut anymore)
