Holy team I-Heart-Armin to the rescue lol

I can't say that I've really liked an Armin track since Prodemium & Precious. Armin van Boring these days is absolutely right.

While I don't want to discredit your opinions becuase they are yours, to say that Shivers is 'brilliant' makes me believe that you have not heard tracks that made Armin, Armin.

Tracks like Gaia - 4 Elements, Moogwai - Viola (Armin Mix), Rising Star - Clear Blue Moon, Iio - Rapture (Armin Mix)

These tracks simply blow away anything he's done since, including everything on his previous 2 albums. While there are a couple of decent tracks on them, nothing matches the magical melodic journeys he's done before.

I think you are use to his previous production style and are not being open minded to his more progressive style. Just because the album isnt as "melodic" as previous ones, doesnt mean it isnt as good. Its just different thats all.

I definitly have heard tracks that make Armin, Armin.

Armin's new album coming out this year should be a much better piece of work than what we heard on Shivers. Shivers did have some great tracks.. but most of those great tracks were the remix versions (Shivers - Alex Morph Dub, Control Freak - Sander van Doorn Remix, Who Is Watching - Remy Remix). Sail and his latest track "Love You More" feat. Racoon are much better than anything from Shivers imo. If these two tracks are just the first of what's to come from the new album I think it will really suprise some of the people that were disappointed with "Shivers".

I also think that there is a certain element of throwing out entire producer albums that don't really seem to work.
When you look at some of the biggest trance DJ's at least...
when Ferry released right of way punk had already been out for a long time, and the only other track that really did it for me on that one was rock your body, tiesto same deal, adagio had been out for a long time and i think the rest of his album was not fantastic as well.

As much as I love some of armin's productions, there are some sub par ones on shivers.

Compared to say Gabriel and Dresden, or Andy Moor, who at least to the best of my knowledge haven't tried to put out entire albums but still put out great track after great track.

Finally ... someone who doesn't rag on G&D

I still hope they put out that album with Jes Brieden though, I love Jes. I'll buy it even if the songs don't do it for me ... just for Jes

People deserve to get paid for their work.

My brother gets points on records/singles. People who decide to steal music rather than paying the $1 to purchase the single are stealing from people like my brother (who works hard and long to put out good music).

Where do you get your singles from?

My bad, I guess maybe apple does dollar tracks. Beatports a little more expensive.

G&D is consistent quality, no doubt.

Ferry's Right of Way had other good tracks...a nice mix of "new electo Ferry" and his previous style (like Sublime and Kyoto). Old Ferry > new Ferry, IMHO

I don't knock too many DJs who put out full length albums when EVERY track isn't amazing...because *very* few music artists PERIOD put out albums that are gold from front to back. It's unfortunate...I'd rather just see more EPs with 4-6 solid tracks insead of a dozen where half of them are "meh". But a full length album allows them to experement a bit...include some tracks they'd never release as singles...so whatever.

Nothing too special about this track IMO.

I wouldn't consider myself closed minded. I like the direction Ferry and Tiesto have taken with their new works, there's clearly a uniqueness to their tracks, just like before. I can't say the same about Armin's new style. To me, he seems lost. He lost his signature sound, something you can hear and clearly say that's gotta be Armin's work. It doesn't have to be melodic to be good, (SVD tops the list on my mind).
