| Originally posted by Axolotyl Sorry, thats complete TA elitist bollocks. I've read your cd reviews and you obviously have a hangup about full on and feel the need to slam it in every post you make. Theres a lot of very psychedelic and dark full on being produced and the morning melodic tracks keep getting better also. I doubt you've heard much of it if your view of the genre is so simplistic. |

Admittedly there was a huge influx of commercial israeli stuff a few years ago but even they are refining the morning sound and producing amazing tunes. Fair enough you dont like it, but we could easily say suomi is eclectic introverted shit too. |

I've been listening to full on since day one and all I can say that the israeli full on scene started to get really overflooded around 2003/2004. Loads of acts popped out the same formula. Not much variation. However alot of non israeli full on acts (like Electric Universe, Silicon Sound etc) still made classy stuff in the genre and still does today. |

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I've never understood the elitest attitude regarding full on psytrance. I've been listening to psytrance for 6 years now and I love the full on sound and where its heading. That is just me. Don't hate me for it, or think I'm less of a human being for liking something so many people regard as trash or lame or "all sounds the same." Where is the respect for people's taste in music? This is where any argument should end. If people like a certain style of music you hate or think is shit, thats great for you but leave them alone and don't make them feel like an insignificant dung beatle because of it. I can't stand this attitude and it pisses me off to no end.
Don't know how much of driving psy it is, and if the tunes will be to your taste, but here are a couple of psy tunes I like
Paranormal Attack - Be With You
Man With No Name - String Theory
Black & White - Retroactive
Wizzy Noise - 3D
Big Funk - Kill Exorcist
Psycraft - Nothing But Music
Talamasca - Overload
Liquid On Safi - Child Of D Beat
Lani & Stella Nutella - Different Colour
Damage - Dead People
Melicia - Kinouw
Sungirl - You Are Don't Stop It
The Misted Muppet - Photos Of Ghosts
Wizzy Noise - Congee
The Misted Muppet - Spiritual Visions
Silent Hill - 24 Covers
Talamasca - Ghost In Goa
Ananda Shake - Shake Well Before Use
I hope you'll like 'em

OK, heres the problem. If your definition of full on extends only to the top 10 israeli artists, then ofcourse your going to find it all the same. The thing is, if psytrance isnt dark/nighttime (eg: Kindzadza), twisted (eg: double REL) progressive (eg: Ticon), minimal (eg:Sensient) or suomi (who cares) then by classification it pretty much comes under full-on psytrance. I think a lot of the people who are bagging full-on think of it as being GMS, Eskimo, Infeced Mushroom, Astrix, Skazi or more of that commercial stuff.
I'm not trying to be a genre cock here, but people need to wake up and realise that full on counts for maybe half the psy music produced all over the world. And although for some reason its deemed cool on TA to bag anything that isnt progressive, techno or house, the rest of the psytrance world has a lot of respect for the artists making this style of psy and elitists are just making themselves look ignorant in comparison by slamming something they dont really understand.
If anyone feels like re-defining their understanding of modern full -on, I'd say try out Slum, Phi, Phyx, Tron, Twisted System, Alternatice Control, Hydraglyph, Misted Muppet, Rinkadink, Audiotec, Protoculture, Bizarre Contact, Vibe Tribe, Ultravoice, Lish, Xerox & Illumination for starters. Also, really try and get out to an outdoors party and experience it in the right context. Otherwise, seriously stop slamming it, because those of us who do like it know a fuck load more about it than those who slam and we can see the elitist wankery for what it is. You cant be arsed to find the good acts or it isnt to your taste? Then fair enough... thats not our problem. Full on isnt some uplifting cheese and deserves a fuckload more respect than what a few narrow minded people here give it.
