plaza has it's ups and downs...
I have time i like to go to massives and small parties depends what you are looking for and how you feel.

dj's at club'z are the best to see... i disagree! totally simply because alot of people at the clubs are drunk barstars don't even know who the dj is so there4 doesn't appreciate the beats. people at a party well majority are going strickly for the beats (and the ppl who don't grrrr)

id rather hang out with drunk people, than 4,000 high people who are molesting each other all night, and running into me.

besides, at least at clubs/bars, 40% of the attendees dont sit in the middle of the dance floor. (which is seriously a plaza thing, its not that bad anywhere else ive gone in seattle, portland, anywhere)

Brandi604, you're probably right with regular club nights at bars, but any time a bigger name is at a club (i.e. Christopher Lawrence at Sonar or Deep Dish at the Plaza), they sell tickets for the events at about 15 bucks each. Tickets usually sell out early and that's because the people who really want to see the djs buy them up. Big parties on the other hand, it seems a lot (not all) of people just go for a good reason to get messed up with a big group of their friends. I've never seen a dj set at a club where more than a handful of people weren't totally respecting the music. It's pretty evident at big parties, especially the Plaza of Nations, that quite a number of people probably wouldn't know who was spinning without the djs sets posted.

I'm sure you can tell I'm a little bias but I've just always had more fun seeing djs at clubs than big parties. Plaza of Nations for instance is a great venue for a big party but the vibe is based way more around the drugs than the music. I personally prefer going out for the music.

i agree 100%. this is one of the many reasons i detest plaza parties.. i mean show me someone who's really there for the music..

ya, i agree totally.. i just think the scene these day has gone down hill so much. people are going for the wrong reason and wrecking the vibe.

The one and ONLY reason I go to any party these days is the music. The first rave I've been to since last February was Freedom, and I wasn't disappointed with the music at all.

heh justin i'll take your word for it
well that's well and good but i mean if all your friends are hiphop fiends, and only like the trance you spin, and aren't inclined to EVER go 'raving' again, because its uncool.. that poses a problem...
dang
heh
..well no, some peeps like christopher lawrence.. but thats as close as it gets.. i mean, woo-friggin-hoo.. christopher lawrence. id rather go see nemesis to be honest

id even flyer to go but no one seems to want one anymore

so i just spin my trance. listen to the trance on the computer. dream of seeing pvd in person...

Hey Pat, none of my friends like trance but when a DJ I want to see comes to town I just go by myself. I know that sounds weak but I am not going to depend on my friends when I want to do something.

PS You got any new mixes Pat?

Posted by patticus on Mar-15-2002 04:20:

the other stuff i dont think is too great partially cuz of comp trouble lately.. and my TA mix had a HUGE static glitch, or else that'd be fine. heh. i can still send you either,
