OK heres my review!

Got to the drink a little bit before 12pm and from there on out I divided my time between the Drink and the main room for pretty much the rest of the night until I left around 4am!

I caught bits and pieces of Timo's set and I really liked what I heard from him! I thought he was much better this time around then when I heard him back in October! Lots of cool dirty techy, tech-house, electronic sorta beats with some more minimal kinda tunes sprinked in here and there. What I like most about Timo is the cool underlying funk to his sets. He gets dirty and he brings the funking funk. I just never stayed in that room for too long because the crowd / the god awful BO / overcrowding in there makes me nervous. What a shitshow that room is. No like for real, that place is a total disaster. ewwww.

I wandered thru the Gallery once and yea again not really my thing at all.

Thank fuck for the Drink yet again. Overall in terms of the music and crowd thats far and away the best room in the club.

Timo was on a stage in from of the stage (amazing set up with 6 LCD Screens and 1 projected screen). Timo was meh...wasn't feeling it at all. Went and waited outside of Gallery at 2:30AM for the doors to open (listened to 10 minutes of hip hop from the "pink" room (anyone notice that the orange room is now pink that's how much I wasn't liking Timo's set.

Got into the Gallery - and all I can say if WOW, I really love that place. Stayed there until they closed it down - Simon Jain, and Sidney were great. It is quickly becoming my favorite place to party. My friends (tranceaddicts) actually enjoyed themselves in Gallery - amazing what an open mind can let you enjoy.

At 6am went back to guv and Timo was still on, i was more into his set now, and enjoyed the next 50 minutes or so that he played. Then Mark closed the night off with a bang. Good times were had by all.

Special hey to Sean who I hung out with for the better part of the night - it was a blast. Hope you enjoyed CZ.

hehe* Jay i know how you feel....drew and i recently discovered the amazingness of the gallery...and i'm hooked... I actually had a urge to go lastnight...but money did not permit. one thing i noticed about the gallery...or rather what drew noticed...was that "its where all the hot people hide out"

Scott who would have ever believed it, but I believe we've become quite the party animals.

Timo was breaking out some awesome beats, it's just too bad I had the spins so I couldn't do some full out dancing. At least I was still able to enjoy the music!

Decided to head over to gallery and what ends up happening I loose Scott.....All I can say is thank god for cell phones!

I wanna thank Ben, Max, Scott and Tristan for protecting me from that creep last night. You guys rock at being body guards.....
Some guys really don't know how to take a hint....I started dancing big to see if he would get the hint....nope to dumb....then got to close and ended up getting an elbow in the rib cage and all four guys dancing around me, he still tried coming back.

Mister Tyler.....you bugged me all week about going, told me I had no choice in the matter and then you go and fall asleep...you owe me big.....LOL jk Glad to hear you were able to catch up on your sleep!

Until till the next party!

Last minute decision to go, and I couldn't be happier with the night overall.

Hung out on stage right behind Timo all night. Ended up getting 4 Heinekens given to me from Timo's buddy that was hangin out there, and also a signed CD.

That man is a technician behind the decks, everything he did was so precise and controlled. Amazing.

Wasn't too sure at first if I was going to enjoy the music, but he ended up owning me all night.

Sorry to everybody that got booted, and didn't enjoy the night, you missed out in my opinion.

10/10

M.I.K.E. next

damn fucking right!
the main room is only good when you're watching it from above. being in the middle of it really sucks.

Seriously, WHAT THE HELL is that? I've never elbowed so many people on purpose in my entire fucking life as last night at Roseland. I caught Nada shoving some of them as well, lol. And why the fuck do they insist on doing it at the FRONT of the dancefloor if obviously in their e-tarded k-holes they have NO CONCEPT of the songs they are hearing?! Go buy some glowsticks and sit in your basement and do that horseshit. Anyone care to enlighten me on this?

Posted by joinT on Mar-06-2006 04:48:

gallery was the place to be... got in around 2, to find Simon Jain killing it...
coatcheck was closed - cuz they had no more tags for the hangers ?!? weak.
tried wandering into guv once.. really packed and wasn't impressed with timo at all..
so back to gallery.. Max it was good to see you bro.. I'm pleased with how often i catch ya in gallery.. and thx!

I'll probably get flamed, but I think that was me. I did get the hint and I wanted to make my way towards the middle of the floor afterwards but it was too packed so I decided to just dance there. I would've probably moved right away if I wasn't so intoxicated, but either way I'm sorry if I creeped you out.

Posted by chinamon on Mar-06-2006 12:42:

all of you whiney little bitches regarding the sketchy asians in the guv....
stop crying because there are two *very simple* solutions to your problem; the drink and gallery.
many people who used frequent the mainroom have switched to these two other rooms. and if you must be in the mainroom then stay in an area where these asians are not, such as off to the side of the dancefloor where there is usually more room to dance as well.
get it? got it? good!

Posted by Ablefunk on Mar-06-2006 15:15:

Amen chinamon!
Really, if you hate the mainroom, and the elements(asians) that go along with it, than stay the fuck home and stop killing buzzes by constantly complaining. Or like he said; go to the gallery or drink. Personally i enjoy the madness and carnage that is the guvernment mainroom. Sure its a bit annoying early in the night when it takes u 20 minutes to get to the bathroom, but just have some patience and wait for it to clear out a bit. If you can't be there that late than you don't know how to party, and u also don't know when the best beats are busted out. Enough with the "I hate GUV" threads. Don't like it, don't come. As for me I will continue to embrace the "shitshow" that is guv.

Review for The Guv:...I've never wanted to kill myself so much before in my life

score:...1/10...and it only got the 1 because some guy hit me in the head with a glowstick so i grabbed it and whipped across the room, he looked like he was gonna cry...and that cheered me up.

Just my opinion...I have absolutely no clue how anyone can call that circus of a venue a 'positive' clubbing experience.

I miss Boa-Redux (Carey Britt era).

P.S...to Jeff and Liz:..that was the worst attempt to grease a bouncer in the history of mankind...

+ 1.

but really not surprised, i went in expecting a shit show, and alas, it was a full on diarhea typhoon

Timo Maas wasn't my cup of tea....
The asians were their regular self. I guess I've learnt to dance over them. However it was a bit more of a "pushy" night that even had my temper boiling over at points....Anyone who knows me also knows that temper + me dont go together in the same paragraph even at guv....

Long live the gallery and its filthy beats !!!
Simon Jain was realllly realllly good...
Sydney was terrific....
I'm sure Nathan killed it......
The setup in guv was pretty spectacular for just one headliner...
Mark played a GREAT opener for Timo ...set him up brilliantly only for the vibe to go DOWNhill.....

Posted by geroin on Mar-06-2006 17:16:

thats bs, guv was way too overcrowded, even thedrink was when i got there at 12 i couldnt even move so i spent like good 2hours chilling by the couches in the back, after i went to the balcony and i saw the madness that was downstairs, it was way to overcrowded, all i saw was people moving back and forth but not many dancing because of the lack of space
the only thing i liked was the setup of the booth, other than that meh..
