-- my damn headphones broke on me!

That sucks, Curly. I have a pair of Sennheiser HD280 Pros and I love them. They're very sturdy and have great sound quality. My friend has HD25s, which are a good buy also. (BTW, sorry I didn't make it to the studio las Friday, I was swamped with work).

For what it's worth, I've had the Pioneers for something like 2 years and they still work as well as they ever have. I've always liked the sound quality. Haven't started cracking or even come close to breaking, and although I haven't been very rough on them they've definitely seen some wear and tear. (Though now that I said that I'm sure they will )

I had the Sony 700s when I first started spinning and they cracked after a year or so...they weighed quite a bit too, so I was always fatigued after spinning with them. And the sound wasn't very good either...

I'd love to try the Technics, I've heard great things. If, or when my Pioneers break I think that's what I'm going to do next.

they do. actually they have a sampler of almost every headphone they have on stock and you can test them. you take whatever cd u want and hook the headphone to one of their cd players and take a listen.
i dont know if some branches dont have it but i always goto the one in pasadena and they always have test headphones. thats how i selected my first headphones.

DUDE! if you bought it less then a year ago you still have warranty. im just dealing with pioneer with my warranty headphone replacement now. i broke my headphone last week and sent the broken one with fedex(just the headphones without the case or the bag) to pioneer. i called them yesterday and they received it and they will be sending me a new one soon.

im selling the one im getting(which is brand new in package) and selling it for 125$ with 9 months warranty remaining. with that money ill be getting techincs.

i wish guitar center has senheiser to test so i can check it out to see whats all the raving about.

The Sony MDR-7506's are far superior then the 700's. The only reason why i use those now is because mine snapped at the hinges. I would go with the 7506's or Technics!!!

That sucks man, I dont know what Id do if my cans broke on me in the middle of a set. I have the Technics headphones and they work great and sound awesome, too.

how about the sennheiser hd-25, incredibly light, comfortable and sound fantastic. i use mine for everythin DJing and Production. either these of the sony 7506 or even 7509 although they're huge

i got it for $100.

http://www.electronics-expo.com/pro...1200&zipz=11001

showed that website to guitar center and they price matched it. from 179.00 their retail price to 100 is one crazy deal.

cheaper than pioneer and better but pioneer is lighter and less sloppy when you put it on your neck or when youre trying to control it. but i guess you need practice to get used to it,

No focking way, awesome price there. As for Guitar Center, I love their price matching policies.

i live in santa barbara...the nearest guitar center is 55 miles away. i didnt wanna risk driving 110 miles just for them to tell me that the print out i gave them was from an unauthorized dealer.

they are an authorized dealer. you can call techincs(panasonic) to find out if u want to make sure.
but like i said, i showed the sales guy i know at guitar center a printout, he went online and checked then called his manager and everything was OK.

if u wanna make sure, you can call them up before you get it. driving that distance wont cost you nothing more than $10.

p.s. or else you can play it safe and also printout the sales page of djdeals.com (thats what i did just in case). everyone in the business knows djdeals.com is legit and they have it for 119$

Posted by SVGmethod on Mar-17-2006 08:58:

yeah ur right, it is a legit authorized dealer. www.pssl.com is the place i ordered from and i have done business with them before. they have a 45 day period where you can still bring them a lower price and they will refund you 110% of the difference. They told me that djdeals.com and 123dj.com were unauthorized dealers. Electronics-expo should work...although I dont know if the price they give you for the headphones is the advertised price since you have to add the item to your shopping cart to see the price. I will make some calls tomorrow. My headphones were shipped next day for free. =)

Posted by stefanoc on Mar-17-2006 09:01:

thats a good policy.

dude, whether you get it for cheaper or not congrats!! its a great headphone and its all good even if you paid 30$ extra. headphones isnt something you buy everyday.

Posted by SVGmethod on Mar-17-2006 09:10:

thanks! i am quite looking forward to switching brands from pioneers to technics.

Posted by SVGmethod on Mar-17-2006 17:11:

so i just hit up Pssl.com with the electronics-expo.com price and they refunded me 44 bux!!! $96 headphones ftw
