Arrived early, with the club empty, but ran into Abercrombie...good chatting with you, and hanging out with your crew.
The place was very empty, even just before 12. Around that time I ran into Tyler, Vlad and his buddies. Soon after, time flew by and I ended up in the gallery, where I ran into Ben, Tristan and Shanny. Around 4am I just wasn't feeling it anymore and decided to call it a night. By now guv was a full sardine can, though the music was quite good.

I'm so wishing I wasn't on call last weekend....sounds like I missed a good party.

Max - I hope you were nicely confused....man I wanted to get confused all weekend

Cam - sorry man...no gallery for me...piss me off.....did you get kicked out again

Saturday night was AMAZING!! Definitely up there with some of the best nights I've had out, ever.

Jimmy Van M was a bit weak when we started, but he got it going and I was liking what he was playing just before Nick Warren came on. His set was phenomenal, every single tune was good, from the dark progressive, to the breaks, and to that pretty much trance track he played second last. I really liked the decorations and how the dj setup was so close, nice and personal.

I though Warrens antics behind the decks were pretty amusing, ie. the drinking, the smoking, the dancing around. I hear maybe one or two times where the mixing was a teeny bit off, but like twice in a 4 hour live set is pretty damn good. The mixes were long and smooth, and dead on as far as timing (which i love, i hate when dj's just flip the fader over) and i also liked how he previewed the next track long before the track playing was even over. He was totally working the crowd.

I was sort of hoping he'd play Mindcircus as a finale, but then again, it woul have somewhat contrasted with the rest of his set.. maybe a dark and dirty remix?

It was also HOT in the guv, like steamy!! As for the crowd, somewhat pushy, esp a certain demographic (you know who you are!) and a total lack of girls, but I'm getting used to that, and maybe I'm only saying that because I was at TiL the night before and there were LOADS of hot looking ladies!!

I'd really like it if somebody threw a tracklisting up here, there were a lot of songs played that I was not entirely familiar with

yeah - he had a beer and smoke in hand pretty much the WHOLE set

and the guys washroom was abnormally crowded - like all the time - prolly cause there were WAY too many guys there...

i second this - as the music was INSANE, but not a single track was familiar (to me at least)!

Thanks for that review. I'm quite bummed that I didn't go now.

^^^ shit happens! but i found, and i think i speak for many, that his set from last year was better!

Posted by shanny on Mar-14-2006 18:08:

I found his set to be very up and down.
At times it was really good and I was digging it and then it would go into a time of not being that good at all.
The set up inthe guv was very cool, and i was impressed with how late Warren was spinning. When I left at 630 he was still on.
Simon Jain in the Gallery was really impressive. At one point I was laying down on the couch and catapulted up to start dancing when he dropped an awesome track. I really love this guy!
Thanks for the hospitality Justin and Dustin, good times all day on sunday as well.

i thought it was all about Simon last saturday. he had the vibe @ the Gallery but then again it seems to me that the Gallery always delivers! There's something about it that I love but I haven't found out exactly what yet!

Guys, I just wasn't feeling it.

Warren was at times, excellent, and others just okay- his set lacked consistency for me. We called it a night at 5am. My friends really enjoyed it though. Apparently he and Marc Oliver were playing in tandem.

These were already mentioned :
Thomas Schumacher- Heat It Up
Depeche Mode- A pain that I'm used to
Deep Dish- Dreams (Honeyfire's Dub remix)

I'll add to it:
Depeche mode - I feel Loved (??? mix)
Pryda -Afrermath
Donna Summer - I Feel Love (??? mix)
U.N.K.L.E - reign

and tons of other tunes i can't rememeber now.

not his best set imo, but it was alright, energy was kinda up and down as others have mentioned, but i liked the breaks though. he was too busy flirting with his valley girl groupies, getting them drunk with champaigne and asked us for a lighter like 100 times.

The Drink though was awesome, they were just killing it there.

ok i have finally reached this thread
came in around 12:30 through guv..
music sounded quite alrightdont really know who was spinning at the time b4 Warren but i liked..
the warm up began..man was it packed
first thing to love was the Djs being set up right in front of our stage!!! it just adds so much to the vibe!
warren was excellent and so so at times...
not bad but it was too many ups and downs this way
so after a few hours i procedeed to the gallery...
that place got a vibe like no other.
you will move even if you dont want to and its less crowded with less people moving through the center of the dance floor

ofcourse the songs i was and still am singing: the top 3 mentioned below..just mmm!
Vadim - awesome time dancing with u hun! will never forget your face when u ran BACK into the gallery for Depeche Mode- A pain that I'm used to
hehe
met some new facesi will start naming when i'll feel more comfortable about all your names..hehe

ok pictures coming in next post..didnt take much batteries died

that song made my night @ the end! my friends were leaving so instead of going back through the guv exit i told them i would meet them at the corner of jarvis and lakeshore (just outside the gallery) just b/c i wanted to go back out through the gallery so i could hear one more good song....and what a song it was! one i've been listening for past couple of weeks every day!

oh and it was a pleasure to finally meet you Anya! you rOck hun!!

Huy guys, can anyone name this track playing? I heard it before on another guv night, and usually when you hear a good track a second time, you're dying to find out what it is.

Thanks,
AJ
