i agree with RJT. he so sexcii.

Us n00bs like the TL's as it allows us to go out and get those ch00ns if we like them, or await the release of the tunes (if Sean Miller is the producer of a few of the tunes than big ups for him, don't know why he wouldn't want to be pushing his own tunes really).

It also means that we don't go into the whole upfront debate and start questioning the legitimacy of how this guy obtained his tunes in the first place. Not taking a shot at Sean (I have heard of him before actually), just an observation.

That post about who Sean Miller is would be very useful in the first post Eddie (aka Floorwhore)

LOL, I agree, Floorwhore is a bastard.

So as a penance for being such a dick about this, it's loaded onto my iPod for the trip home this afternoon and I'll throw out my thoughts later tonight...

i only posted it in forums where i knew he had fans from previous appearances (california, wmc, australia, toronto).

to be quite honest, i didnt even know this subforum existed until i had already made the posts!

I'll get on it tonight

Let me add that I'm glad he spammed it in our forum, cause we sure have a good # of Sean Miller fans since he closed after Lawler and fucking played a set on a PAR with Lawler (and lawler fucking killed it that night).

Met Sean twice and hes also a very nice guy.

i would say its meh
not a gem at all just a decent mix. i mean for a guy who spins with lawler all the time i guess i just expected more

guess it really depends on your taste in music, but there is no denying how good technically this mix is.......

Posted by WardC on Mar-17-2006 01:31:

somehow when it click the link, it gives me an error message saying that I don't have access to the file at this time, and I can't download...

Sorry, I wanted to hear your mix, but I can't download it...that sucks.

My sentiments exactly, which have already been shared in the tracklist thread

On reflection after a few listens the first 2 tracks were certainly the strongest of the set by a long shot.

The mix IS in fact, technically solid, however that can be said about a lot of the TA mixes.

After listening to this a couple times I'll say this much, Sean is clearly a talented DJ who can put together a solid technical set, however, beyond his abilities, I found this set to be incredibly lacking.

I just got bored with it, much in the same way that myself and others found his set opening for Lawler in Chicago this past October rather boring (Though, it was a "warm up" and not a headlining or featured set, so I refuse to let it be a "end all/be all" description of Sean's live abilities). You can certainly put it down to personal preference, because perhaps it's just the tracks he's choosing, or rather, how they're programmed, but this one just didn't do it for me.

I'll give his next mix a shot and see if I dig it more, but in summary, on this one (In MY opinion):

- Superb mixing
- Decent track selection
- Poor programming

This guy def needs a peak time slot.

Thanks to him I got to hear Mr. Robato at Avalon, and it blew the fucking place up!

But that was like, the most boring track he dropped that night, to give you an idea.

If you guys REALLY want to experience Sean at his finest, you have to see him drop one of his infamous 'XXXtended sets'. They are 8+ hours, and really showcase both sides of his styles. The opening style, where he lays down a lot of warm vocals, and chilled sexy house and tribal.... and then picks up the tempo toward the middle, and then shows off his "big room sound", where he takes thing to the next level.

Of course, you would need to come to Toronto to witness this, and when Sonic opens in the VERY near future, it wont be long before he gets another night to do his thing, from open til close
