You took the words outta my mouth: I have seen Tijs 6 times in Toronto and 5 of those are still in my top 10 parties EVER (the 6th sucked b/c they put like 10,000 people in Guv, but he still played the sickness)...also saw him in Boston and he was pretty good there. Now, In NYC in November, one of the worst shows EVER due to both him and the crowd...I HATED the whole night and left mad early.

So yeah, I am optimistic. The man got me into trance.... and disliking 1 or 2 of his shows out of like 9 will not get me down Not to mention I have loved every one of his CD's except for the last. Magik + ISOS

I beg of him not to do a repeat of ISOS 4....I will cry

Oh god yeah, seen PVD about 15 times, Ferry, John 00, G&D, Markus, Oakenfold, Digweed, etc. I'd say all of them are better than Tiesto at this point. The thing was that Tiesto was pivotal for me, and I keep chasing that night. It was probably just a one-time deal and I should just let it go.

For those who have been to Crobar, is it a good place to go for a party? Is that atmosphere good? location? sound system?

Posted by phuzzyfish12 on Mar-16-2006 08:26:

Its okay, depends on what you are looking for in a club. www.crobar.com you can check out the photo's sections also, I think there are pic's of Tiesto events on there. If your looking for a good party though you should see Carl Cox at Crobar on April 1st

Posted by Tranz on Mar-16-2006 11:42:

presale tickets are only $300... and entry is not guaranteed

crobar is arguably the best megaclub in the city and has won numerous national awards. tiesto has said it's one of his favorite n. american clubs in which to spin.

the crowds tend to skew toward the meathead variety, but if you're focusing on the music instead of standing around and creating a buzzkill atmosphere with your friends, you're more likely to enjoy yourself.

the video embedded in the link below is of tiesto @ crobar last february:

tracklists of tiesto's previous crobar gigs can be found: Here; Here; and Here

Posted by Drogean on Mar-16-2006 16:53:

i love crobar

ive only been to spirit/crobar/roxy but crobar is def my favorite

its real fun, crowds are good for the most part, obviously wherver you go you're bound to run into people you hate but Crobar's crowd on trance night is pretty good i must say

Posted by zachias31 on Mar-16-2006 16:55:

And the bartenders are usually quite nice. Such a lovely change from the Roxy.

Why the edit to your original post?

I guess if we don't like Tiesto, we're cry babies. Maybe the problem is that you don't go out enough/listen to enough music and you think he's good. I'm not living in the past. There's lots of current DJs and tracks that I'd rather see, so if that makes me a crybaby, well...

i think italstylz was referring to the inordinate amount of time the gimps on this site devote to constantly denigrating tiesto; you'd think the guy ran over people's grandmothers with the amount of shit that gets spewed...

there are plenty of djs i could give a shit about, yet for some inexplicable reason i don't feel the need to constantly whine, bitch and find clever new ways to waste swamper's bandwidth.

many people on this board have moved beyond the 'witty criticism' category and have become cartoonish trolls whose responses in a tiesto-related thread are as predictable as clockwork. the fact that the 'critiques' come mostly from relative noobs to the scene make it all the more pathetic.

we were all talking about it tonight during dinner

can't wait

lets go and support our local talent.

I'm suprised that nobody is talking about the 4th. If it is indeed a Thursday, then I'm so there. I'm not the greatest fan of Tiesto spinning, as I don't personally think he's the greatest live DJ (I prefer his productions and studio mixes). But if the 4th is a Thursday... I can't quite see anything else that I'd be doing on a Thursday night, so you can expect to see me there.

+1!
