guys, note that I said "on my equipment". I have one Technics and one Sony, and the Sony seems to have so much fluctuation that it IS impossible...I didn't say that I don't believe DJTJ.
Greets,

my bad.. i thought you were spinning on 2 1200's.. i can see where you are coming from, my friend had an old pair of the gemini 1550?? im not sure which model but they were the introductory direct drive tables and they sucked major ass.. after about a year, it couldn't hold a pitch and the record would just speed up and slow down on its own.. damn thing had a mind of its own, if you spin w/ it you might as well not even bother adjusting the pitch because it won't stay there..

Actually, have you tried putting 2 records with the same BPM on two technics and putting the pitch on "0", they will NOT stay together for 5 minutes in most cases.

haha just a thought on this dawn, i been on the decks since last april, but since you did that post on adjusting the pitch adjust i tweaked mine to the MAX so +8 is like +10 or +12 now. gives me GREAT versatility w/ my records.. but..

its SOOOO sensitive! i dunno if anyone else has done this but its a bitch to get a good match, in terms of putting a seamless set together. or is it just me?
i think i would rather readjust to normal settings, but i didnt mark it like an idiot, so i have no idea how to do it...
also, now if i spin out, then im not accustomed to even house tech12 decks..

What are you talking about Pat? Your mixes are real good. And...considering you haven't even been doing it a year....all I can say is ...watch out people!

sorry I messed up your career, lol
you can still turn it back, maybe it won't be exactly +8 then, but it will be a lot less sensitive if you turn it about 70-90 degrees counterclockwise.
You need to decide if you want the big pitch range or the better sensitivity...btw your mix really is good, much better than the ones I made in my first year.

He is good, huh Dawn? Geez....I don't even remember my first year! LOL!

geez, THANKS guys... you made my day!
now i can stop fretting over music and go to bed.. hehe

but seriously, support coming from experienced djs as yourselves really encourages me to go on.
looks like i'll just keep on truckin' so as to fulfill your expectations!

Thanks again.

Try mixing with a Technics Belt Drive TT and a Numark Direct Drive TT. Mixing with two real turntables seems easy after getting used to this.

beat matching really isn't a challenge any more. i just cue the record in and get them matched. the hard part is finding a good cue spot so that the drops and breakdowns are aligned, and not overlapping. but that's half the fun.. finding sick new mixes.
