In my opinion, headliners need to be separated into three or more categories (e.g. house, trance and techno) and then get their ratings within their category. Due to the fact that the Europeans and Asians are crazy about trance, we're seeing all the trancers occupying top 10 spots meaking virtually impossible for djs who specialize in House music to get to the top 3. Personally, that's how I would rate dj House Trance 1. Steve Lawler 1. Ferry Corsten 2. Nic Fanciulli 2. Armin Van Buuren 3. Desyn Masiello 3. Tiesto 4. Hernan Cattaneo 4. Markus Schulz 5. Deep Dish 5. Johan Gielen |

U know, I enjoy seeing who people think are the best. But how many times have you looked at a tracklist in a top 100 dj's set and been like who's that guy? You look him up find some beats and he/she is unreal. Or how many times have you heard a track in a club that just makes your night, yet you've never heard of it, and no one else has either(ie. half of nick warren's set on sat). The Dj's that produce and spin, live for their tracks to be spun by a top 100 DJ. Some of them even just live for the accomplishment in making an amazing track. The point is, rankings are cool, but even #1006 can be a fantastic DJ, and may just be too into their own local scene to really push themselves to gain international appeal. Last thing i'll say! Never ever mention my boy Deko-ze in a 2nd rate tone. Any man that can spin like him, have that much energy behind the decks, and produce tracks as amazing as "the calling" is #1 in my heart.

Listen, all I'm saying that they are talented djs like DekoZe and there are more talented djs than DekoZe like Lawler, Masiello, Ali & Sharam and others who by no luck happened to be headliners. Nobody is denying Deko's talent, but equating him to Desyn or Lawler is just plain retarted. If DekoZe is better than most headliners why isn't there a demand for him to spin at some of the greatest parties in Ibiza? You can say that it's a matter of marketing, but how come we had somebody invest in Armin or Ferry, but not in DekoZe ?....could it be because he's not as good as them?
Anyways, you guys need to take it easy on me
because you're attacking me like hungry vultures
The whole world decides who the best djs are, not us in Toronto.

its not about who is better in any of these polls about who listen to who more and you knows who more. some people say they like someone and they might like somebody better but they just never heard of them.

Not to knock the talent and hardwork of the guys at the top, but by no means does the DJ MAG poll reflect ones talent, OR hardwork. |
