I didn't actually make it over there in 2005 to live. I just ended up going for holidays. I don't know the rules and regulations on income taxes there either so I can't really help you as far as that goes. You can probably send an email to the Consulate General of The Netherlands and ask them. Or else next best bet is to look under their government site and see what you can find there.

i remember one time i was over there hearing about the guy who had stayed adrift for over 30 years thus he no longer claims citizenship to any one country for he proclaims himself an international citizen .. apparently he was originally from Switzerland

i'm only in Ibiza june and july. after that i'm bumming around EU (if i don't run outta money)

as said before, i'll have my citizenship, so its not a problem for me. however, my friends have been turned down for a workers visa to spain, where they will be for 4 months. they were also told by the Spainish embassy here in toronto that they cannot stay in the EU for more in than 90 days in a 6 month period. the likeliness of getting caught while in the country is slim to none, but they can catch you when you are trying to leave and can force you to pay a fine ( one person heard it could be 1000$ euros a week). someone suggested to them to take the train to london and fly out of london, as london does not have the same rules..and this greatly minimizes the chances of getting busted
