I totally forgot about Robert Miles. Scratch previous post. Robert Miles was my first cd, although it wasn't Children that got me but rather the Fable one *can't remember exactly what it was called anymore*

Posted by DJ_D|ABL0_ on Jan-27-2002 11:33:

It's called "fable" funnily enough

Talking

Binary Finary - 1998 [PVD Remix]
Tiesto - Sparkles [Transa Remix]
Agnelli & Nelson - Hudson Street [New York Remix]

they really got me into trance and I started collecting tracks as mp3. Before that I had just heard trance at parties but didn't really own any mp3s/cds/vinyls. Huge props to Swamper for putting up tranceaddict.com & all TAs.

system f - out of the blue
robert miles - children
ayla - ayla

still love these tunes.

For me it was DJ Vertigo - Magic Eyes ... it's a bit commercial, but that's how it all got started and I was beginning to be interested. Maybe the real beginning was even earlier, cuz I always liked the commercial (I didn't know anything else) eletronic dance tracks...

Posted by Tranex02 on Jan-27-2002 20:01:

believe it or not....

Some 94/95/96 DANCE music....
ATB - 9 PM (Till I come)
Vengaboys - boom boom

and then progressed to the better stuff

Posted by SunDanceParade on Jan-27-2002 21:41:

Cool

My first track which got into trance music was For an Angel of Paul van Dyk. I still enjoy hearing it.

Posted by pixyjunket on Jan-27-2002 23:54:

i had been listening to all sorts of electronic music.. trying to figure out what i really liked and all..

then i heard this song:

delerium - heaven's earth (matt darey remix)

and from that point i've been a tried and true addict..

Posted by Werewolf on Jan-28-2002 00:27:

for me: Three Drives - Greece 2000, Dj Sakin - Protect Your Mind (Ayla Rermix), Ayla - Ayla part 2

Posted by whiskers on Jan-28-2002 01:26:

well, i started out with scooter and robert miles in 1996
got addicted to "real" trance with delerium - silence (airscape remix). before that i listened to stuff like dream dance cds and whateva.

Posted by Djinn on Jan-28-2002 02:48:

BT - Blue Skies (Delphinium Days Mix)

Posted by justin on Jan-28-2002 03:12:

i discovered that i liked trance when i was living with my uncle. first time i ever had access to the web and that was back when napster was free so thats how i found out about it. the first song that i heard that i loved was:
Paul van Dyk/For an Angel(e-werk club mix)
but that was the one that got me hooked and ill never forget it.

First Trance Choon

would, without a doubt, be

Orbital - Halcyon & On & On

and the quintessential Trance 101 anthem

Paul van Dyk - For an Angel

Posted by Kko on Jan-28-2002 03:25:

For me, it would be
PvD-For an angel
Oakie's tranceport hooked me into this world, too.

Posted by uberclkgtr on Jan-28-2002 04:05:

That's easy...

Robert Miles - Children

But I didn't know that was trance, I just thought it was *good* dance music.

The song that got me hooked on the genre was

Lustral - Everytime (Nalin & Kane Mix)

ahhhh...

Same story as above, but different track and artist. My first "trance" song was from 1996, Josh Winx, Higher State of Consciousness...if you can call that trance....

Posted by phatdelt on Jan-28-2002 08:19:

sandra collins - flutterby (x-cabs mix) - then i found one of her sets online and listened to it and Voyager's Time Travel into Deepsky's Stargazer pretty much hooked me

Posted by kolkiewolkie on Jan-28-2002 10:13:

Can't say which song did...

grew into dance/trance my entire life..well, as far as my memory goes back. probably living in 'trancenation' holland helped a bit with that...

stuff like alice deejay, darude etcetera is pretty much seen as 'crap' by most holland folks here (no offence, personally dont hate it) because we all heard it a zillion times on local radios..

me, (just personal) the beauty of silence - svenson & gielen really made me curieus if there was more of this stuff out there...(there IS )....still am grateful for that song towards johan gielen...

so you could say this is the song that really pulled me in, but I've just always liked electronic music..
