you say that people started listening to J00F. yeah but you forgot that the huge amount of people that started listening to trance during the last couple of 3 years mainly started because of djs such as Armin and Tiesto.
a quick look at any ASOT thread shows that the majority haven't heard J00F at all.

hehe i forgat about all the n00bs
i dont know if ASOT was always mainstream,i remember ASOT had unique tracks for the most part that other DJ's dreamt of having...Armin had unreleased tracks, innovative tracks and tracks by unknown young producers on his show not just "typical club trance".
Asot was NOT mainstream at the begining,it took at least 70 episodes until it could be labeled as "mainstream"

again soory for not taking N00bs into account,my order was Radio1 sets JOOF,Jules,Fergie, digweed,Pete tong whatever and only than ASOT i forgat that some people actually started with ASOT or worst - with tijs...

Anyway i dont want to hijack this thread and complain about JOOF sets cuz i still think some tracks in his show are nice and that alot of it is a matter of subjective taste in music.

Yea I don't find it intelligent. I find it quite shit. I think the biggest problem with j00f is that he will try so hard to have an upfront set full of unknowns on his playlist that he will be willing to play any given reject unsigned CDR for the sake of it. Sorry to break it to you John, but it was a reject for a reason. It's shit. Oh, and lets all not forget he plays some Psy!11one!1 Each to their own though, I don't like his sound.

I thought J00f reffered to his show music as intel. trance...i guess you said he referred to his own productions as intel. trance.

justified mistake

Man, even Solarstone's Deep Blue shows are better than ASOT, even with the annoying '3 in a row' sample and other sound effects

Actually, his gigs/sets are not more upfront (upfronter ) than other trance dj's, most of the tracks he plays are already released.

heres an idea: i'll just play one tune 5 times in my set and everyone will still love it! OMGIDIE

the dl is not valid anymore

Posted by SPANIARD on Mar-16-2006 15:44:

I saw Flemming live less than a month ago, and to whoever said he was king of club trance must have never seen him live because he blew balls.

I have no problem with Flemming; I've heard plenty of sets, understand that he is bound to have a bad show.... but please, it's pretty ignorant to open up a thread saying "all ASOT listeners, listen to this" since the implication of it is pretty clear. There are tons of radio shows that are alot better in many people's eyes, that play alot different tracks that Armin wouldn't play. If everyone posted 1 set like that, we'd have yet another forum

Besides, most of the arguments that are being posted are just "Armin plays commercial, J00f doesn't". That's as uncreative as you can be. Atleast have an episode of ASOT posted so that we can compare it to, because I'm sure some of the people who are bashing ASOT, seek through the t/l and don't even give it a listen. Personally, I think ASOT has gone down.... but not because it's recieved more popularity.
