The automation clips were nice when I had 1 or 2 of them, but now that I'm using upwards toward 10, it gets really confusing and annoying. Plus I'm told there are many advantages to Cubase by many of the producers i'm in contact with. Anyway, no doubt FL Studio can get the ball rolling on production. I just dont know if its truly up to par with these other programs. (I mean, it can get up to where the other programs are with 3rd party plugins, but on its own no way) I'd like to remain neutral in the sequencer wars, so dont flame me... I left my flame retardant pajamas upstairs.

10? LOL

I use like 40 in any given track. If you have some specific issue with using them I'll help you out.

I've heard there are advantages to cubase by alot of people too, they never seem to know what they are though...

As for third party plugs, well yes, and no. You're buying a boxed studio. I suppose if you don't want to be able to expand you can switch to Reason, which is fine, but you're stuck with what they put out.

I got FL knowing I would be using 3rd party software, and frankly I'll never use Reason, because you can't. You have to hope they make everything that everyone else makes available by way of plugins. You might as well own a Mac. (LOL flamewar time.) :P

I'm not bashing Reason. And I have no idea what the capabilities of Cubase are over FL, but I do wish someone could tell me, because it apparently rocks the casbah.

Like I said, the only thing I could possibly see being an advantage is superior effects chaining (but FL 6 is on to something pretty awesome as far as that goes.)

Someone?

[edit]

Actually I was bashing Reason.

These kind questions have no answer. It is up to every individual for himself to decide which is best. Good luck trying to find your best tool.

Now that's a load of bollocks. You can rewire Reason to almost any other program out there.
