couple things you need to know:

a) you need to know someone to get in unless you have about $200 cash American on you to slip in to the bouncer

b) you'll meet lots of celebrities there, especially hot female russian pop singers

c) you need about $20 per drink. at least. last summer i paid $25 for vodka/redbull.

d) you'll need to dress up really good. if you think you dress up nice when you go visit lot332 or this is london, think again. in moscow, fashion is on another level.

e) oh ya, the club is very impressively designed, probably a famous dj will be spinning the day you go, do your search for your dj. i got to witness David Guetta there in october! he's very popular among crazy russians.

LOL!! THANKS! I'm not too worried, I'm going with my best gf who was born there, her father lives there and is taking us out, he knows ppl who know ppl BUT IM PUMPED! Clubs out of NA, are out of this world nicer.

Space(Ibiza)<-----best sound system by far.
Pacha (Ibiza)
Stereo(Montreal)
Fabric(London)
Palladium(Acapulco)
Space(Barcelona)
Peter Pan(Riccione)
Pacha(Sharm Alshaikh)

IMO those need to be in the top ten.

Posted by MKpacha on Mar-18-2006 23:27:

basically everyone agrees Ibiza is every clubber heaven... *sigh* I wish I could go back to last summer....

Posted by Bertuzz on Mar-18-2006 23:41:

Space, Ibiza #1.

The only reason Privilege gets mentioned is because of its sheer size. Besides that it's really nothing special imo...just a huge warehouse for 20k ppl

No way Amneisa holds up to 10K. Especially in the "main" trance or side room. It's 1/4 smaller than the Guv mainroom, the other room in Amnesia is about the size of Koolhaus. Besides, size is important but not of huge importance in terms of quality. I'd say a lot of the top 10 are in Ibiza obviously (but not all). I will try and check out Fabrik in June.

NYC as an acronym which being inculded in a word count is three. so that's technically 4 words.

I once knew a guy who partied in Chuck Norris's basement. He said that he cried twice due to its sheer awesomeness of the whole experience in Chuck's basement.

Crobar doesn't compare to GUV in all honesty. The only PERK that totally outshined GUV is their BOTTLE VIP service. PROFESSIONAL. BIG TIME!! U're treated like a superstar. aside from that.. the sound and lazers..and size of GUV kills Crobar..hands down.

I was wondering the same thing. Last time I was there I couldn't find anything that stayed open past 2am. Everyone locally I asked said there wasn't much unless you wanted to trek back to the mainland area outside of the city.

Actually so far as I know there is only one night club in venice and it is crap... club Air is just outside venice, and im trying to think of the area it is in, but you can bus it out fo the city in liek 15 mins to get there.... I think the town starts with an M...

I walked nt he club it was stunning... don't remeber much... they were walking around with bowls filled with champagne, and each VIP table had little bowls of your selection of "party treats" if you catch my drift...

Posted by MKpacha on Mar-19-2006 01:42:

come to think of it... it might be in Padova or Mestre... im tryng to rememeber... ughhh... anyway, just outside on main land..

I confirm

I don't think you guys give the guv enough credit cause you all live in Toronto. You have it in your backyard and can go there any time you want, so it kinda losses something for you.

I have partied all over north America, guv is my favorite. Cheaper than NYC. Nicer building than most clubs. Just big enough with out being too big. Cool, helpful partiers for the most part. Security that's not that bad. Great line ups. Great location. The list goes on and on.....

Your very lucky. I'll take guv anytime. Probably not the #1 club in the world, but in the top 3 in my heart....easily

Guv is a good club don't get me wrong, probably in the top 10 for sure but it's not super amazing.

This is where the whole debate on 'best club' breaks down IMO. To me, a great club doesn't need lasers, fancy decor, or anything truly material.

To me, what defines a great club is the atmosphere it brings in on a weekly basis. Truly, the best club I've been to [that's still in exsistence] is Stereo in Montreal. Not because I'm a househead, which I am, not because of the killer soundsystem which would easily be top 10 in the world, but because the vibe the crowd has on every night I've been there. To me, if the people around me are going off, chances are I'm gonna be swept up in that same energy and go nuts all the same regardless of the musical choice, or the fancy colours in the lights. And that quality in a club in itself is impossible to manufacture, it has to come from the people who go out every weekend to have a good time.

If someone enjoys going out for the whole experience of the look of the club, or the service, or even the good looking women, then obviously their choices in what constitutes a good club will differ. That being said, because everyone will weight different aspects of a club differently, and it makes coming up with an all encompassing 'best club' impossible.

My Advice:
Go to as many different clubs as you can, and make up your own mind.

Yeah I spent two nights in that crap hole of a club. The main bartender was actually from washington DC so we chatted a bit. ...and by chatted, I mean drank. (she married a guy local to venice, so that's why she was there)
Was the name of the town Mira, Mestre or Murano? Just curious for next time.
(mirano is another town a bit further out if it wasn't one of those three)
I had a much more interesting night life in Rome and Athens Greece.

You bring up some valid points. However, I think what u're describing would be the best CLUB/VENUE "to party at". Not necessarily the best CLUB/VENUE (Technically) per say. One thing's for sure...there's none of those sketchy, squatting, e-tards at Crobar.. and the vibe there was definitely amazing, that is, until the Hell's Angels NYC chapter came in at the end of the night

My NYE 2004/2005 with PVD in NYC I was witness to a double stabbing.
Sometimes shit hits the fan... but the same happens anywhere.

'Start a new thread about the top 10 clubs in Canada instead. Guv doesn't certainly have capacity for 10K but it's always overpacked when there's a headliner so maybe the bouncers think there's 10k capacity. The club was smart in combining club and afterhour hours (10-6) so they sort of get both crowds. 'Like the setup too, reminds me of Graceland, for all you Vancouverites who were lucky to experience the boom of acid house and techno in the early days.
