both Brad & Desyn were awesome. it's too bad Desyn was still under the weather or I'm sure he'd have played longer.
did anyone else notice that TiL seemed to slowly turn on more & more lights as the crowd thinned out? Brad wasn't even finished and I swear the whole place was lit up.
They did that at deep dish too man.
Desyn was great, at least what little I heard of him.
I fell asleep on Friday and I didn't wake up until close to 3am.
I had to take pictures of people dancing and were "in the moment" for my drawing class.
Here are some pics from the evening...

thats a pretty wicked picture!
thanks guys! My camera can do pretty groovy things
This club is 21 and up right?
Desyn is one of my favorite DJs and I didn't go to see him because I've been hearing from people it's 21 and up and they get carded everytime, I live too far out of town to be denied entry into a club.

Friday totally exceeded my expectations.
First time at the club and the staff were awesome. From the Bouncer out front to the bar tender's, such a change from other clubs.
Sound was a little hard on the ears as they were ringing for two days but the sound coming out of them was awesome. Brad and Desyn were laying it down. Up until the cold play track killed whatever flow Desyn had going was great. We left shortly after the snooze fest..
A lot of old schoolers out for this both on TA and not. I'm still grinning of what a blast it was (and how blasted I was).

nice pics!

| Originally posted by Cribby I'm still pretty ticked off...Once again the TIL door bouncers get on my nerves. Got there pretty early; it was around 10:30ish and there was no lineup. Same stuckup guys from last week start giving us shit because my friend's shoes weren't clean enough...and then they said "Oh by the way, it's 22+ tonight." Seriously...STFU!! Since it was early and both Sean and Ally weren't there yet there was nothing we could have done...We even tried convincing them to let us through because it was a friend of ours' birthday...It had absolutely no effect...so after waiting around for 5 minutes we decided to go to Footwork. The music was decent but around 1:30 J Prez totally lost us...His mixing needs alot of work. At one point I realised how much I missed System Soundbar..which killed the mood for me, which wasn't that great to begin with. By 2:30 all my friends leave me, and usually I can have a good time in my own world, but I wasn't feeling it at all. I called it a night about 3 am...and went home pretty upset. |

Oh and I also heard about how your night went. I hope everything is ok
I absolutely loved it! The tunes were easy to get into and just plain fun. Desyn is the man.
the venue was very welcoming and my gf can't stop raving about the women's washroom- maybe i'll check it out next time
good times last friday, definitely

see you when we get back.. hopefully at Hotel.. for my birthday beats.. off the plane and home at Hotel.. whew!
Such a great weekend. There are only a handful of djs that I'd do a double header for and Desyn certainly deserves it. Big thanks to nadezhda and Adrian... here's to the next roadtrip!
Friday - started the night off with some green drinks, great company and some tunes. We got into TIL by 11 and it was nice to see the place was already filling up. Brad had a solid opening set, really surprising me with some drummy house tunes near the send. This guy just keeps on getting better and better each time I hear him!
Desyn started shortly after 1 and I was solidly glued to the dancefloor from that point on. Smooth flow all night though I have to admit there were a few times where he lost me briefly. I don't know if it's because he was feeling under the weather or too much expectation for the night on my part but it wasn't quite what I was hoping for. Anyways, Desyn at 80% is still miles better than a lot of other djs so it was still a good night. Really surprised that he stopped at 4 and then left almost immediately after that. Just another sign that he wasn't feeling his best.
Brad came back on and ended the night in fine style. Lots of people stayed til the music died at 5:15. Very pleased that I lasted long enough to finally be able to close the place down.
Sat - roadtrip to Ottawa and it was non-stop Desyn listening all the way there (and back). Got into Helsinki just before 11 and it's such a tiny space! Cute club and I'm glad these promoters are bringing in great djs to expose the Ottawa scene to (Lee Burridge is there in a few weeks). A very mixed crowd, seemed to be scene- and not music-driven. Surface (the other Ottawa club) was having their re-opening the same night and most people left for there, so it was very strange indeed to see the place clearing out by 1. The opening dj was having technical difficulties and someone brought in another cdj so thankfully everything was set by the time Desyn started up by 12.
And holy, did he ever deliver!
Perfect tunes all night, beautiful flow... so much better than his Toronto set. He looked somewhat shocked by the club/crowd size and was even more pale/sickly looking. So no big surprise that he stopped at 3. But he did chat with a few fans after and was gracious as always.
*tune id* Killer last tune was by Paranoid Android (?) coming out soon on Alternative Route.
