the remix of bjrk is darrens & ricks best remixwork imo, along with their underworld remix of schmoo by spooky. the bjrk remix is cool because they slowed it down to 110 for the vocal version but the both the 2 dubs are at 125. which is well cool, really groovy remix also.

My absolute fave Underworld is "Two Months Off" followed closely by "Dark & Long (Dark Train)".
Their remix of Orbital's "Lush" comes next in the line of favourites...

The complete randomness of their lyrics annoys me.

I actually think 'Pearl's Girl' is my favourite Underworld track.

Just because you don't know what they mean doesnt mean they are fucking random.

I have to say I am also a complete dunce when it comes to Underworld's lyrics.

But they are pretty random, isn't that the whole point?

Posted by torontotrance on Mar-21-2006 16:30:

How can you forget Drum Club - Sound System (Underworld Mix)? Simply nasty driving bizness!

Sure, but I bet it wasn't just him writing random stuff for no reason. Even if only he knows what they mean, I'm sure they mean something. They dont feel fake. I dunno. Maybe I'm crazy.

Posted by Echo of Silence on Mar-21-2006 16:51:

lol, I'm sitting here listening to Juanita: Kiteless: to Dream of Love when I saw this thread, Estella.

River of Bass is probably my favorite though I just heard Cowgirl for the first time this week (maybe Sunday?) and wasn't really focusing while listening. Kittens, Dark & Long (Dark Train), Deep Arch and yeah, I like the jazzy feel in one of them, i think Cups? Born Slippy and Jumbo are high on my list of good stuff. I appreciate the stream of consciousness vocals though sometimes I think I could do without and yeah, I'd like to see them live one day.

I'd definitely like to listen to their remix of Orbital's Lush.

i like their ambient side aswell, ansum is one those tracks that did it for me

Posted by torontotrance on Mar-21-2006 17:03:

lots of people neglect ansum, which is pure genius in my book.

Posted by Iceferno on Mar-21-2006 17:14:

Does Ansum come from anywhere in-particular? I checked all the albums on Discogs and couldn't find it.

Posted by montana on Mar-21-2006 17:23:

usually, there's a deeper thought behind the lyrics. and if im right, that is the case too with (most) underworld tracks. like in born slippy, a soundtrack. next to that, those lyrics give you something you can always rediscover in/about a track, something that makes the track exclusive. its not a simple n stupid james blunt song in which some fuck-up sings; you're beautiful, you're beautiful, you're beautiful its true. who cares you're fucking beautiful? I DONT!!

Spikee and Kittens would both be amazing to hear live. Are they ever going to do a North American tour anytime soon??

Posted by Kapedano on Mar-22-2006 03:05:

I really love Two Months Off, thier best production in my opinion.

CHA! That's what I'm resorting to the DVD.

However, look for Depeche!! to be hitting up your city soon.

Echo, why did you feel the need to tell me what your were listening to? hahaa, goof

Maybe it's just me, but how are the lyrics random?
Two Months speaks for itself. Born Slippy I had heard was of Hyde's alcoholism, definately drugs and sex IMO, while the parentals witness the decline of their son. Well, that's what I tink but it's all subjective.Hyde is hands.down my fave EDM vocalist. Something about the way he yells those "slips of conscious", repeatedly, again and again, beating them like a dead horse, just as loud and repetitive and abrasive as the machines is.....
