WHat the why she having sex with 14 year olds? She probably could have any 18 year old and over and then some. Jeeze weirdness on all levels. Charges shouldn't have been dropped, if my kid was the 14 year old I would be so pissed. Teachers are trusted to take care of your kids and mold them in to proper human beings. Not trusted to take care of sexual needs.

I had a one night stand with my former grade 8 teacher two years ago. I was 21, she was 33. Everybody in my school wanted to bang her when we were 13 but it's just not the same when you're an adult.

What I find funny is that they keep going on about the 14 year old having anxiety and everything. He should feel like a champ...he didn't do anything wrong!

man, i'm just poking fun. But let's be honest...most young teenage boys would have been in on that scenario. It probably happens more than we think.

that is not true

girls are sexually "functional" way before guys are

at 14 you know whether or not you want to have sex with somebody.... you may not necessarally have a good grasp on what the potential consequences are but you are certainly able to judge whether or not you want to fuck.

agreed...people would be *freaking* if this was a male teacher (regardless even if the student was still a guy).

an abuse of a position of authority (e.g. teacher) is unacceptable in ALL circumstances and should be prosecuted accordingly.

This is true... but there's a difference between wanting to have sex and being unaware of a dangerous sexual situation with an adult. These laws weren't created because young teens are unable to HAVE sex... they were created because adults preying on children can be extremely deceiving and manipulative in order to get what they want... children generally do not have the life experience to detect these situations.

These laws have NOTHING to do with being sexually "functional"... it has everything to do with protecting our youth from predators like this woman.

Girls hit puberty way before guys, thats a very well known fact.


In these types of cases, most people involved know whats going on, and want it to happen. This happened at my high school with a teacher and student. One teacher and a bunch of students caught a male teacher 'having relations' with a female student after comencement. The teacher was never charged, and it was just swept under the rug by those involved.
The girl was hot, and apperently the teacher was good looking.

2 years later a different teacher wasnt so lucky(same school). He was charged, and went through the legal system.

while i agree the the laws are not being harsh enough on her, this thread alone shows the cause of it. Its public opinion that creates the laws..and the public opinion of most of the MALES (c'mon, give blame where blame is due) on this board think that this is ok, if not great! you blame the law, but really the cause of it is your friends and peers. change the views, change the laws



when i was in highschool a LOT of my girl friends had the hots for teachers. Its only normal. however, its the teachers responsibility as an adult to realize they are in a position of authority and shouldn't be doing that. so while many of you would like to "tap that ass", and that desire alone is fine, to actually be allowed to is not fine

That's exactly what he said? He was just stating that a larger percentage of girls would have gone through puberty at 14, then males. He was pointing out that when you said "girls are more sexually developed than girls at this age", that science tends to disagree with you.

My grade 8 french teacher was smoking hot and she never wore a bra. She would always lean over to answer questions from the guys. It was amazing how much we all wanted to learn about french that year.

but females physically develop at a younger age and are typically more mature then their male counterparts. the intensity of their desire is not correlated with their sexual development

i meant sexually acive not developed, dont have to go crazy about that

there's a difference between being a horny 14 year old and having a genuine desire to engage in sex with an adult.

while "many" 14 year olds might like this scenario...I suspect that a very low number of them truly comprehend the context and consequences.

the real issue here is that the accused was in a position of authority/trust (being his teacher). It's for this very reason that while the age of consent in Canada is 14, and has been for decades, it's higher when one person is in a position of authority (it then becomes 16 or 18, I believe).

did they say why? lack of evidence? the kid was full of shit?

becasue teh kids parents dropped the charges becasue of anxiety from the media or some bullshit like that (don't quote me on that though)

its just disgusting how this has become so common in both male and female teachers. i've applied for teachers college for september, and its annoying as every new case is presented, the reputation of teachers get worse and worse. Children should feel secure in the trust for their teacher. This shit is so unacceptable, and the double standards make me sick.

its amazing how her fiance is still with her? i couldn't even imagine staying with someone after something like this. she could of at least said 'no comment' for the double standard question, opposed to saying, "i don't think there is one" making herself look like a complete fool. its also boggling, all the effort needed to be put in to become a teacher, and ruin it only 1-2 years in by doing something like this? what the hell?

at 14 i clearly knew what i was doing and i would have clearly hit that....

a dude banged the bookstore lady at my highschool after school...and than went on to bang her for months....and the funniest part of the story is that her son was a student at the school at the same time and only a year older than us....this was gr 12.

Instead, she claims the girl's 'ambitious and pushy' mother concocted the allegations to spite her when her daughter failed to reach her potential and left the Loughborough academy. Liverpool Crown Court heard that the girl became infatuated with Lyte and sent her intimate text messages, claiming she loved and wanted to marry the blonde coach. She wrote a love 'contract' to Lyte, referring to herself as the coach's 'babyface' and promising to love her for ever. Her feelings, the jury were told, were reciprocated. Lyte and the girl shared hotel rooms when away at tournaments and were seen using the same toilet cubicle. Lyte even started wearing the girl's clothes and adopted her 'style', the court heard. Peter Davies, prosecuting, said: "The relationship between coach and student transcended the boundaries of a normal coach-player relationship. "The defendant was attracted to the girl and it seems that the attraction between adult and teenager became mutual. "Instead of realising the true implications of the situation and maintaining a professional approach, the defendant took advantage of the difference in years and maturity and fostered a relationship with the pupil." The court heard that Lyte is a former professional tennis player who played at Wimbledon and reached 101 in the world rankings. When she was forced to retire through injury, she became a coach at the LTA's Loughborough academy for aspiring tennis stars, and was named LTA young coach of the year in 2001. The court heard that the affair began in May 2005, six months after the girl started being coached by Lyte at the centre. It was allegedly discovered in October 2005 when the girl's mother came home unexpectedly early from a party one Sunday afternoon and caught her daughter and Lyte in bed together. Yesterday, the jury was shown a recording of the girl's interview with police. She sobbed as she said: "My mum came back and we did something that shouldn't have happened. "I don't know what to call it. It was something sexual." Mr Davies said that according to the girl, a consensual sex act took place. When her mother arrived home, she noticed two pairs of trainers at the top of the stairs. She went to the girl's bedroom where she found them in bed together engaged in a sex act. "There followed lengthy arguments between them, during which the defendant said she cared for and was in love with the girl," said Mr Davies. Instead of reporting Lyte to police over the alleged incident, the girl's mother allowed her daughter to continue her training at the academy. She made a formal complaint only ten months later, in August 2006, after Lyte told her that her daughter's tennis career was not progressing. Police searched Lyte's home and discovered a pair of the girl's knickers, with traces of the coach's DNA on them. They also found a love 'contract' in the girl's handwriting hidden in Lyte's bedroom. In the document, the girl pledged to: "Never be with anyone else. Never lie to you again. Always be here for you. "Always be your babyface. Be a good baby, not a bad one. Try hard when I'm on court. "Be with you for ever. Never let you go. Never lose you. Do chores in our little house when we get one. "Look after you and love you for ever and just be with you." The girl told police Lyte took the lead in the relationship and she was frightened to speak out because it might have jeopardised her tennis coaching. Asked what she thought of the affair, the girl added: "It was wrong. I'm too little, too young. She should have known better." Interviewed by police, Lyte, from Shirley, near Solihull, West Midlands, denied the affair. She claimed she was heterosexual and that the girl's mother made up the allegations to get her sacked because her daughter's tennis career was faltering. Lyte denies five counts of sexual activity with a child between May 2005 and June last year. The case continues.
