This is a console game through and through, Im writing this from a hardcore pc gamers perspective so dont think im saying this game is shit becuase i aint. Its just not suited to the pc, the developers have from a profitable buisness point (the major downfall for pc's when it comes to cross platform releases) have cashed in on the console market and the pc version suffers for it.

If you own a PC with a low end video card and proccessor and you must play this game, save the money from upgrading and buy yourself a 360. Or stick to the pc, buy yourself a copy of morrowind and download a high res texture pack.

The UI is very console like but overall the game is very good... I dont see how it would run to badly your computer is not speced much lower than mine. I have a x1900xtx and a pentium d 930 at 3.6ghz im runing it with pretty much everything at 1920 x 1200 and i get lag sometimes outside(framedrops to 20 or so) but for the most part im 30fps+

i quit morrowind coz it ran so terribly on my machine. now that i have a newer beast i started playing it again last night, coz i know oblivion wouldnt run too well. so in 4 years time im really looking fwd to playing oblivion

Im not calling it a bad game by all means, as for the frame rates, I also get around 30fps, but for the most part outdoors i cant stomache the mouse lag. I have a friend also with a X1900XT and he gets similar results to me. Kicking the resolution down to 1024 x 768 gives me 77FPS+ except outdoors where the grass seems to do the most dammage but at this resolution on my 20" LCD it looks crap.

Overall i found the game very buggy, and the graphics engine needs optimizing. I took mine back for a refund a few weeks ago.

The 360 is supposed to handle the game really well so i hear. Check out the official elder scrolls forums there is pleanty of comments from 360 users.

I have no problem playing the game on my xbox 360 the fps is set at 30fps but occasionally it will drop, but never so much that you can't do what you're trying to do. I've played for about 80 hours now and I still have so much do to.

I just started the game 2 nights ago since upgrading my system. It runs pretty good at 1280x1024. I'm still in the dungeon where you start off so I haven't see any outside yet.
