This party was one of the highlights of my WMC. Even though Desyn and Luke Fair never came.....most of us had a pretty good idea that was not going to happen anyways. Sick tunes all night!!!

i'm amazed at the number of people who thought Porter played a good set...

for those of you who are long-time Porter fans, do you REALLY dig his new mega-mix mixing style???

i've been a HUGE fan of his productions/remixes for a long time now, but this was my first time ever seeing him live... and maybe i'm being too harsh, but i thought his set @ Suite was just terrible. it showed no sense of direction, it was no fun to listen/dance to, and i couldn't get into it when all i heard was 2 or 3 minutes of one bangin' track before he mixed into the next equally bangin' and predictable track. i mean i've heard plenty of older sets from him that were just AWESOME... but i reeeeeally hate the mega-mix style he seems to be so infatuated with now. at one point i took a minute to sit down and i didn't even want to get back up to dance to his set.

shit i was on drugs and i didn't even want to dance, lol...

I don't know how old you're talking, but he's been playing that mega-mix style for quite some time now. Sorry that you don't like it, but it does seem to keep the energy high in the clubs whenever I've seen him.

He wasn't playing that way on 6/10/05 when he opened for Sasha... I'd say that's a fairly recent change.

Edit: Also, even after the completion of the "Porterhouse" compilation, he stilled play some sets that I would consider a more "traditional" approach to putting a set together as opposed to the allstar mashup mode he seems to be in (as well as seem think so highly of himself for doing).

Well maybe the drugs you were on made you THINK his set was not good because that was not what you wanted to hear.........

Sorry m8, it was just plain and simply a bad set.

I wasn't so mashed that all sense of skill, style, and technique left my body.

this porterhouse party was off the hook!!! the women, the decor, everything i thought was amazing. I missed Phil and Fluff, but Eli Wilkie had the place going nuts. The Bon Johnson show was great. I thought Steve played brilliantly, as did everyone we were hanging with. To each his own, I guess we all have different tastes. Been a Porter fan for a long time and I was really into what he played, especially his remix of 'welcome to miami', the crowd went nuts. I thought this party was great, definately one of my wmc highlights.

that was surely the worst 10 minutes of "music" i have EVER experienced, and a complete and utter joke to the electronic/house music scene.

Worst. Statement. Ever.

Bon Johnson should be shot and have his cut-off fur coat covered corpse desecrated.

yo

What's up homeslices,

Just to clear things up, the mixup on the bill was not the fault of the promoters at all. The blame falls solely on the club owner and local club staff. Adam and the entire Porterhouse crew definately had no idea about this...stuff like this happens all the time around WMC and it's unfortunate. I found it bizarre because on the night of the party I was still sitting at home! Didn't even get to WMC until the Friday.

Hope everyone had a great time down there...

Luke

phill & fluff were awesome... we happened to grab their WMC 06 promo cd and it is excellent.
the only reason we went to suite that night was to see mark knight and desyn, neither of whom showed, oh well, it was good anyways. Just remember guys: "Its all about the house music and it always will be."
