Right, you think your people will just sit and watch their troops get blown up day after day for the next 10 years?I highly doubt that.
Dont forget whos money being wasted on this war it is your money and dont forget who is paying the price of this war,the blood of the Iraqi people.

How many years did it take for America to become a civil place during the Revolutionary war? It doesnt happen over night.

ok but you have to understand that democracy wont always work all the time on some countries and most importantly it cant be forcerd.
Iraq has been ruled under dictatorship for many years and thats why they have survived for this long.Funny thing is Bush thought this was going to be piece of cake and I doubt he relized how fucked he really is.

Granted many troops have died....but not nearly as many as most wars. There are sacrifices when one goes to war...be it money or life but when the outcome can be far greater in the end the needs of the majority out-weigh the needs of the few.

It works 90% of the time though...and seeing where Iraqis came from it is worth the effort. And 10,20 or 30 years from now the country will be better off when the PEOPLE have a say...a say that they wont be tortured or condemned for.

They survived this long out of fear not out of love of their country...big difference. Seems like you are saying they should of stayed under Hussein's rule simply because it was what they are used to...never minding the fact they lived in a horrid state.

I agree they underestimated the war not realizing that terrorists would come in and do their nasty deeds...but overall the war was a success...they took over the country quite easily...but like is aid the terrorists are the ones who are causing the problems...not the Iraqi citizens revolting. Again a big difference.

lol @ grammar

can't be forced? really? let me tell u something, kid, every government in the world is forced. the very principle of government is that it is forced upon the people it governs. otherwise it wouldn't be a government. how can you govern if the people don't adhere to your rules? granted it is not perfect, and positive change takes time, democracy is the far lesser of many evils. so unless you admit that your ideal government is utopian, why dont u just shut the fuk up already with the anti everything western, its fuking old.

Look if you do some critical thinking you would see that GWB has been one of the greatest presidents ever. He has stood strong when we were attacked and his actions for war were that of a good leader. He didn't ONLY go after the terrorists he went after a whole country that was completly innocent of harbouring any terrorists or having any WMDs. Also he wanted to privatise SS which would make rich people even richer. Don't you think that is good?

On my continuation of how GWB is one of the greatest presidents ever. He has increased the debt by trillions in the name of keeping the economy growing and our self reliance growing on foreign nations. He also got away with ILLEGAL wiretaps because he is so freaking powerful all politicians just shiat their pants when it comes to opposing him and his administration. Go against him you go against FOX and that is not possible to do. He has also giving us some great moments on the Daily show with all his mumbling and ya.

LEpanto you took me off myspace?

since you're not replying to my points and are just making random idiotic comments, i'll assume you completely agree with me.

and iraqis arent only blowing americans up, they are blowing eachother up at a much higher rate. so by u saying "go iraqis," in regards to violence, i guess you are suporting a civil conflict. smart

Yes, you are right, I completely agree with you; the government is forced; but not the system behind that governance.

I agree but do you really think G.W Bush went to this war for the sake of the Iraqi people? Why isnt he helping other people in this world like in Africa that are dying everyday?why isnt he bringing Democracy to Saudi Arabia for example?

Thats the Americans way of thinking,But how do you know for fact that this is what the Iraqis want?
It doesnt seem like they are up for decmocracy to me.If anything they would want to have a islamic regime similar to Iran.So Bush went to Iraq to make another Islamic regime in the middle east?

Agian Democracy has many meanings.Maybe to them a free country means having Islam as a rule of law, would that be a problem?

quote:

This war was and still is a disaster and the mission was never accomplished and I doubt it ever will be.

So is this Success to you?How so? first you have the terrorists from around the world coming into Iraq and killing everyone and now you have a civil war going on.
To me this is a real disaster.

they didn't try to invade and steal oil from neighboring countries and gas people for starters.

15 million Iraqis do. but you know better, right? cause you're so worldly with your intraweb and stuff.

seriously, they don't care what you've been fed by your choice of media. to be honest, they don't care about mine either.

"Verily we have honored the children of Adam" (Qur'an 17:70)
We the sons of Mesopotamia, land of the prophets, resting place of the holy imams, the leaders of civilization and the creators of the alphabet, the cradle of arithmetic: on our land, the first law put in place by mankind was written; in our nation, the most noble era of justice in the politics of nations was laid down; on our soil, the followers of the prophet and the saints prayed, the philosophers and the scientists theorized and the writers and poets created.
Recognizing God's right upon us; obeying the call of our nation and our citizens; responding to the call of our religious and national leaders and the insistence of our great religious authorities and our leaders and our reformers, we went by the millions for the first time in our history to the ballot box, men and women, young and old, on January 30, 2005, remembering the pains of the despotic band's sectarian oppression of the majority; inspired by the suffering of Iraq's martyrs Sunni and Shiite, Arab, Kurd and Turkomen, and the remaining brethren in all communities inspired by the injustice against the holy cities in the popular uprising and against the marshes and other places; recalling the agonies of the national oppression in the massacres of Halabja, Barzan, Anfal and against the Faili Kurds; inspired by the tragedies of the Turkomen in Bashir and the suffering of the people of the western region, whom the terrorists and their allies sought to take hostage and prevent from participating in the elections and the establishment of a society of peace and brotherhood and cooperation so we can create a new Iraq, Iraq of the future, without sectarianism, racial strife, regionalism, discrimination or isolation.
Terrorism and takfir (declaring someone an infidel) did not divert us from moving forward to build a nation of law. Sectarianism and racism did not stop us from marching together to strengthen our national unity, set ways to peacefully transfer power, adopt a manner to fairly distribute wealth and give equal opportunity to all.
We the people of Iraq, newly arisen from our disasters and looking with confidence to the future through a democratic, federal, republican system, are determined men and women, old and young to respect the rule of law, reject the policy of aggression, pay attention to women and their rights, the elderly and their cares, the children and their affairs, spread the culture of diversity and defuse terrorism.
We are the people of Iraq, who in all our forms and groupings undertake to establish our union freely and by choice, to learn yesterday's lessons for tomorrow, and to write down this permanent constitution from the high values and ideals of the heavenly messages and the developments of science and human civilization, and to adhere to this constitution, which shall preserve for Iraq its free union of people, land and sovereignty.

quote:
This war was and still is a disaster and the mission was never accomplished and I doubt it ever will be.

i guess the upside is that you're just one misinformed young person from Canada that has nothing invested in the struggle.
