Wow, everyone seems to have a lot more difficult time spinning on pills than it seems I have in the past...
The only time I've ever really had a problem is when I spun a 3 hour set, ate 1 prior, half after the first hour, and half at the beginning of the last hour. I made it all the way to the last 3 tracks without wrecking and then dropped the wreck of the century 2 tracks from the end... It was a "le suck" way to end... 
I think it depends on person
I haven't tried E, but when I'm under Wee dInfluence, I can nto mix properly, anyway in my bedroom I can have some fun spinning on weed, but I don't think I would try it on a club.
When I DJ , I am not under any influence by any drug, not even Coke or Red Bull(Drink).
I just drink water.
But I don't think Dj's who take drugs are bad, that depends on the person, and in the Music history almost all of my favorite Musicians have tried all kind of drugs while perfoming live, so I got no propblem with that.
for me I can get Ideas for mixing while high, but to perform them Perfectly I need to be sober =).

I think drugs is a bad idea, I don't do them my self anyways.
I don't do drugs, but I'd guess the seretonin would fuck you up, and you'd probably think that every one of your transitions is the best one you've ever done, 'cause you'll be blissed out of your skull with happiness 
I suggest a moderate amount of alcohol when mixing, works for me 
I wouldn't personally. I tried it a couple years ago....played an hour, then my friend came on, and I took a pill beofre I went back on after him again. It hit me hard like 5 minutes before I was supposed to go back on and I was floored. he had to play for me while I calmed down, then an hour later I played his second hour and was fine.
i would say take it like an hour before you go on so it hits you and you have some control. if it hits you mid set, you're done. At least i was.

This thread is a laugh... Personally it would depend on the amounts and what type of goog it was... But honestly just don't go insane and if you seem to mix better fucked up then give it a go... Otherwise its not worth the risk.
I spin shithouse when I am fucked... I fuck up heaps and just play with the effects most of the time like a moron.
Have a few brews just to relax before you go out but I would save the pills till after you have spun to celebrate a well played set.
Also I am having a hard time beleving you spun in a k-hole... Sorry but yeah... Just dont really beleve it... K'd yes but not in the afformentioned hole.

Playing your first gig on an e is a dumb ass idea.
A lot of club owners don't like their employees turning up muntered and don't think they wont notice. Chewing your ear and gurning your tits off is no way to make a good impression.
You also become more unaware of the people you are playing for so any valuable lessons you might learn in the world of DJing would be lost.
Take a bit of time to think of your audience too, try and get some more rock inspired breaks or something.
By all means have a JD and coke or two just to take the edge off but don't get battered. It will ruin the experience for you, there will come times soon enough when you will end up at an after party in a state and you will find yourself DJing and you will probably be glad that you played this gig sober.
Treat it like loosing your virginity. Sure you'll be nervous and need a bit of courage but if you get too wrecked you can't perform and will end up looking like a limp dick.
If you are a first timer at a venue you need to have your wits about you as there will be much to absorb.

I have on coke before and that was weird, no chance I'd be able to make a somewhat decent sounding set on pills though.

haha this thread is mad. recommend that you dont drop before a set your hands feel like their not there so trying to catch the beat when your blitzed can be tricky. it can be done, depending on how you react to the pill. some people totally bloop out and dont even no where they are. but if you can handle them it shouldnt be a problem.
personally for my first set live i wouldnt do it. a few straight vodkas and a sambuca should set you up.

yayo and spinnin works pretty well..blazin (to an extent) and spinnin works good too..nothing u want to get u out of focus to the point where ur just soo out of it. u always wanna stay focused when ur wreckin it up..dont do any drug that will make u lose it. every1 is different as well..so some1 might be able to do other shit and dj perfectly fine and you might not be able to..you gotta find your niche and leave it there..don't go too overboard.

We all know drugs react differently with everyone. I wouldn't recommend going to a first gig geeked out. It's a possiblility you could Fuck up and ruin your name a DJ. Spin Sober- After a couple of tracks the music will give you one hell of a high. Just my opinion but spinning in front of a crowd at a nice venue is the best high of all
