Considering it, but it's a lot of money and organisation.
The dj line-up is the bomb but is very similar to last years i'll still be going maybe not for the weekend though.
What in the bloody hell are "Chavs"? Ill be attending this

Sasha, Digweed, Deep Dish, ZABIELA!!!!!, HOWELLS!, Hernan, Nic Fanciulli, Wink, Marco V, Spooky, PVD, Tiesto, Ferry, Tong, AVB, Lawler, the Judge, Jeff Mills, Roni Size, dude...this is rediculous!
So, none of you prolly know me, this will be my first time visiting the UK. I am a law student from Detroit, Michigan and will be spending the summer studying in Rome, Strasbourg, and eventually making my way up to Oxford for the end of July! I shifted my flight back a day and will of course be attending the whole weekend!!!!
I was worried I wouldn't be able to see a euro-style electronic festival but this saved my life. Basically, I will most likely be flying solo, but will hopefully get a chance to meet up and chill with some of you guys. I am flying out of London on the 30th and will be so in debt you will never see me again unless you come visit the U.S. I am hoping I can remember something from the weekend.
I had a few questions for you guys though, maybe someone can answer them for me:
(1) What is the easiest methods for getting from Oxford to Strasbourg-Upon-Avon and then from there to London quick enough for me to make my flight the next day?
(2) Is the VIP worth that extra $50? I don't have a car so parking isn't an benefit. Maybe the beach view? Anybody know from previous years? If you are coming to Detroit this summer for DEMF, I can say from previous experience here that it wasn't worth it, but I was wondering if it was different for Global?
(3) I know the UK scene is rediculous, but honestly why are people bashing a festival with a line-up like this? I live in Detroit where we hold the Detroit Electronic Music Festival, and the amount of money that must have gone into Global's line-up must just be insane. I saw like two dozen djs that I would prolly pay $50 to go see so I have no problem paying twice that to see like 50 of the worlds best!
(4) What is the camping situation? Do people really sleep, or does the music go all night? I hope on not sleeping for two days and then sleeping the whole flight back to Detroit.
(5) THE CHOONS!
Thats it for now, I await any sort of responses.
Thanks guys.
Peace:.

), guess we have too much of a good thing over here sometimes. There are 4 festivals with this kind of lineup this year alone, but global is by far the best of them imo. All I can say is global was absolutely awesome last year [my pics], I remember walking past the trance tent at about mid-afternoon, and it was going properly right off, there was about 4 djs i wanted to see and in the end just started dancing and didnt stop for 12hrs. Just good hard trance music all afternoon and night long.| quote: |

I just did the saturday last year and needed 7 nights of 12hr sleep just to recover from the carnage.| quote: |

I and my woman should be doing the weekend, but will probably get a hotel room as we both hate camping..
friends from Aus will be over here too!
Any extra news on how the line ups are split over 2 days?
There is some confusion regarding Tiesto's prescence... unless his latest Magik trick is to be in two places at once... He is going to be performing on 29-07-2006 in Vienna.
Well...if he is supposed to be in vienna on the 29th, that means that anytime between the opening of the festival and the whenever he has to catch that private jet to vienna, he must play non-stop...that is all.
Its gonna be tough for me to camp out there, all I'm going to have with me is a backpack full of clothes at that point. Maybe I can build a make-shift shelter if I tie all my clothes together with ducttape.
Oh I can't wait for this.

oh and imagine Tiesto would play a early evening set, plenty of time to get over to Vienna assuming he is playing in the early hours of the morning there

yeah they've been there the last couple of years now. think they had people riding on top of them too, strapped in upright, wingwalking i think it's called
and the 'without' in the bit you quoted was obviously meant to read 'with', just read it back and it looked rather confusing
i hated the beach stage.. the music was great, but dancing on sand was so so so so sosososososso bad.

| Originally posted by sitti silence Do anyone know when they will be on sale and how much a ticket for saturday will be? The price for the weekend is really expensive... I'm already checking flights etc... the lineup is more than nice... What you guys mean if its worth only to go on saturday??? I would like to see daft punk, sahsa, oakenfold, danny howells etc..... thanks for any comments... greets, sitti |

| Originally posted by isoterra yeah last year he was 8:30-11, on the radio 1 beach stage... would imagine it would be similar this year. i doubt they'd put him on the friday, although it'd be a pretty tight way of getting more weekend-goers if they did! one of the reasons i enjoyed his set so much last year though was because of the day -> night transition throughout the duration, with it being outside. really added atmosphere as all the stage lighting came on. not quite the closing set at dancevalley but still nice |

I only ask because i am heading to Vienna, which is billed to start at 22:00 CET. It is also an outdoor event, one catered specifically for Tiesto's needs (i.e. not going to be many more djs before, if any) hence the question over his global presence. |
I cannot buy a ticket I don't think b/c they won't issue them and mail them out until a few weeks before the show. I am worried about the process b/c they will mail to the U.S. and then I have to have someone from the states mail it back to where I am staying in Oxford. Does anyone have confidence in this, that is a lot of money, and I really want to do it, but I am worried. Is there a postmaster in the house?
Also, I wish instead of having the little wooden houses, they would just have covered areas with hammocks, that would work for me and it would be far less expensive then the $600 they are asking for. I do like the efforts though, they are incorporating a lot of very interesting ideas, for example the roller rink? Will there be a ferris wheel like they had in Miami do you think?
I'm definitely going to this! If sasha and digweed play anywhere near as well as they did at global gathering wmc, I'll be happy
