Proof that you don't have to be a crackie or cokehead to enjoy the party. You've just got to be inspired.
totally excited!!!!
i'm going to try and go to the afterparty for a bit, but not sure how long i can stay since i'm apartment hunting on saturday

OMG Lee kicked so much ass at both venues. We went to Cielo at about midnight, got in right away with advance tix. Stuck around there until a bit after 4, when he'd played 2 tracks of his encore. Then we went to a diner on 14th and 9th and grabbed food before heading to APT for the afterparty at 5:30. Got in right away and found a seat before it got really crowded. Stuck around until about 8, when I got the hiccups from a combo of all the carbonated beverages and the smoke inside the venue. Damn Red Bull, it was supposed to keep me in the game longer... Went outside and got 2 minutes of fresh air and was set to go, but Barosoap was annoyed with seeing sunlight so we came home. Probably a good call because we'll be well rested for Tejada tonight. We were really hoping Howells would show up, but I imagine we left too early for that. For $25 each total at both venues, tonight was so worth it. I just wish we hadn't left APT so early, but sometimes the body doesn't agree with the mind. I hope everyone had as much fun at Crobar.
i wish my old ass could have made it to APT
lessons learned from my first night out in nyc - wear sneakers, cielo has a kick-ass sound system (probably one of the best i have heard anywhere - it was soooooooo clear and the bass sounded fuckin' sick at times), don't go home before afters to change shoes cuz it was too easy to just say "fuck it" and go to bed and finally i still absolutely LOVE leeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
he threw a really good set - lots of variety - house, tech-house, minimal, techno - he played a lot of the minimal/techno bombs - including loco dice's new release on m-nus (not yet released, but hammered at wmc)
thanks to groundhog boy and barosoap - great to meet you and you guys are so nice and welcoming to this big city
hopefully i will see you tonight at tejada (with sneakers!)
and btw - there is a lot of crappy apartments in nyc

lee played a great set. i love cielo, it is such a great club. i had no problem getting in, as i was worried b/c i didnt have advance tix. my friends did, so the bouncer was really nice and let me go in with them. no wait, nothing.
i only went to cielo, not APT, but i had a great time.

| Originally posted by dcctnycprincess thanks, but i found a place!!!! it's way uptown (96th street), but i love it - 20th floor facing south/southeast - lots of windows so it's a bright apartment. after seeing how expensive apts in chelsea area were and UWS - the UES is really a much better deal IMO. |

| Originally posted by kid nyce wonderful! UES apt's are usually a better bang for the buck apartment wise, actually i was hanging out there on friday night and it seemed pretty lively but for me, there's just something about living in the UWS, something about living near broadway and amsterdam that i can't escape...lol well congrats on the place, must be a lovely apartment with a ton of closet space for all those shoes LOL..... |
lees new track is great.
