Do you guys have the campus walk buddies?
We have them and I use them all the time if I'm walking by myself at night, Someone (usually campus security) will walk with you.
Don't be afraid to use it ladies!

he spent time in jail for a reason and just wants to be left alone
pulse24 almost always exagerates about a "HOT" story just like they did with 12yold being stabed at a club, when she was just cut and not stabbed by much music. Also he only attacked asian women. Not saying its a good thing but like i said you're overreacting. Women should not be walking by themselves past 11 or 12 am anywhere and thats a known fact. Need to get somehwere urgently get a taxi.

To reinterate some safety points
-walk in groups during the night when possible
-use the route that has most human activity whenever possible
-trust your instincts. if you think someone is following you, find a well lit area in with other people around.
-self defence classes help
-carry a whistle (put one on a keychain). whistles at night are LOUD and it's a good way to attract attention
