Does one care to retract their statement yet?

Hein?

1) Never use green and red together. I've never seen a red strong enough to not get totally washed out by the green. Bad choice there.

2) The move that guy's doing is lame... anybody can learn that in 10 minutes. There are much better looking things to do than that.

3) If he used a proper grip, he'd be able to go a lot faster. With the stick fully extended like that, they're a lot heavier going around corners.

Conclusion: he's not that great, and anything involving moving lights looks cool under time-lapsed photography. Photos don't do it justice at all; I'd need to see this guy in person to determine if he's got any real skill.

Hey hey, mon ami, we all still gotta love the Grahmers!!

Like I said... if I saw him in person, I'd be able to determine if he's got any real skill. Until then, I have my doubts

I'm still voting Graham to be like glowstick president.

He's my hero.

Whats with all the hate? You people need to relax. If glowsticks annoy you, you can sit at home and listen to trance there. Personally I enjoy them, im not that good but frankly I dont care what anyone thinks. You cant get good by just looking at them. Im sure the "pro star" that posted in this thread didnt just pick up a set of sticks and became a master he had to practice like anyone else.

Also how does it bother you that people want a light show? We are all there for one reason... to have fun. If thats one of the ways people have a good time then let them. They are not hurting anyone or causing trouble so whats the problem?

So if you have a problem with glowsticks and light shows your better off listening to the music at home because glowsticks are not going anywhere. Stop bitching and just enjoy the music.

So where would one learn these mad skilz that you profess. I'm genuinely interested.

Personaly, I used to love it, then I relized I'm really not that good. Not as bad as most, but whatever. If its done right, its something that I really enjoy at a party.

Saw some crazy freestyle and string action at Miami this year, the likes of which I've never seen here. I wish I could learn like that.

Practice, practice, practice.

We used to have nights where we'd go to the club and just trade light tricks. The more you use them, the better you get - and then you just get to a point where it just "clicks" and you just flow. You make up moves as you go - I feel like I just zone everything out but the music (closing my eyes actually helps with his) and I just go.

I'll be in the Guv most of the night at Decadence with maybe a short trip to the Gallery.

If you see a blonde with blue and turqoise LEDs on the stage behind the DJ, that's me. I am strictly freestyle LEDs - with wrist attachments so if fall out of my hand, they stay with me rather than bean someone in the eyeball.

I can also be found near Stingray at some point during the night - we need to dance together, sir!

so i should stay home because YOUR throwing flashing lights in my eyes? right i wouldn't mind glowsticking so much if the people doing it showed some respect for the people around them. accept the fact that a big chunk of the people DON'T like it and ask before u start flailing them around infront of me. so go ahead, do yer thing. but ffs, it doesn't look cool to me. infact i think u look retarded and if you push your way into my dance area and started throwing those things around, thinking i'm going to be so awed by your pathetic little display that i'm not going to care that your inhabiting my space, think again. i will throw those fucking things across the club...and then laugh as you run away crying

Keep chirping. Due to my gino-bambino past, I used to be a serious glowstick ninja back in the day. Anyone who has been around for a couple of years can attest to that. I don't glowstick at all anymore, except once in a blue moon when I feel like surprising people by showing them that this house snob has "glowsticking skillzzz". You can rate my picture all you want. I don't really give a shit what someone thinks of my glowsticking skills on the intarweb. All I know is that I've made many a sketch bag litterally fall over from my "1337 lightshow skillzzz".

And Jamie, I obviously posted what I did in jest. Hence the "".

Liquid a dead art unfortunately, I loved it, but yes, lots of mirror practice required. For a good pop and lock primer, Kazaa lite or Limewire "Darrin's Dance Grooves" and you should see the pop 'n lock for download... it's a 60mb file if I can remember. Once you have the routine down, it looks silly doing it alone at the club, so you need your gf to synch or someone else who knows the routine. But you can vary it yourself dep on the music.

Only when I'm whacked...and at trance events...Whenever I see them at house/techno parties I get tempted to throw my shoes.
