the way it works is, u buy from a new casio from an authorized dealer, then u send ur old camera with all its components in and they send u money for what they calculate its value as. theres an estimation calculator on the casio site...

check out www.casio.com for all the details

Wow...that's some good info to know. I'll check that out. I may be buying a new camera soon b/c the screen on mine broke, and my dadreplaced it, but it's still a little fucked up. The estimation calculator will be good though. B/c I wouldn't want to send it back and they give me like $5.

I lost my cell phone this weekend.

Can someone donate some $$$$ to me so i can replace it?

It would be greatly appreciated.

Just PM me so we can arrange payment.....

Also, some luncheon meat in my fridge has gone bad - it would be nice if someone on TA could buy me half a pound of macaroni loaf..... i cant live without it.

Thanks.

Did you leave it in a really safe place Jeff? like on the floor somewhere? Cause if you did, then Ill surely help out!

Seriously though, this makes no sense to me either. It really sucks that the camera got taken but the situation could have easily been avoided if it wasnt put down in the first place.

Hi everyone!

As those of you taht were at this past friday's Purple Room know, Mada's camera was stolen, and not found. Unfortunately, this wonderful girl has been through some really rough times in the last little while, and this camera was the second one she has had stolen in 2 months (the first was stolen when her apartment was broken into). So, myself and Joanna (Jojo_K) have decided to start a camera fund to replace the one that was stolen. We have had some great response so far for donations, and would just like to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to those who have agreed to chip in. so far, we have an approx. $110 towards the fund, though the camera will cost around $220, an exact quote to be determined this weekend. If any of you would be willing to donate any amount to this fund, we would be so very APPRECIATIVE!!! If you are interested, please PM either myself or jojo with your interest and amount.

Again, thank you so much to everyone!!!

Best of luck, luxxy--I'm not one to donate to this cause because I have other charities I donate to, but I do hope your friend feels better because you are really doing something very nice for her--to chinamon's point though, I hope she doesn't mind her name being used for this, though, because as nice as this action is it could be perceived negatively depending on the person you are doing it for!

I understand all the comments. However I was asked to post this on Jojo's behalf, so it's not really my doing. It was jojo's idea and Mada approved it....I just hope what we do will be appreciated.

I do feel partly at fault for the camera going missing because Mada asked me to keep an eye on it, which I was doing, and had it hidden in a safe place...then I turn around and it's gone. But then again, as everyone kindly reminded me, I shouldn't have to be responsible for someone else's possessions...so it could be looked at either way.

Regardless of this camera, you are one of the hardest partiers on TA, so you will always be respected in my opinion!

just want to say thanks to the peeps that are contributing to the fund so far

part of the reason Marina and I decided to try to organize this was b/c 1) the camera was stolen, not lost, and 2) i (we) just think its a nice thing to do...frankly i think i'd probably try to help regardless whether it happened to mada (or someone else) ...

i agree with comments that stuff shouldn't be left "unattended", however, i know that myself and pretty much 1/2 the TA's have left their stuff behind the decks for the longest time without anything being stolen before...guess this was a lesson learned the hard way.

either way, this thread wasn't intended to make anyone look like a "charity case"...i see it as helping out a friend...if it has offended anyone, apologies are in regards..
