What about Jose Amnesia?

The Eternal was such a mega track, but since then his 4 or 5 releases have been generic and forgettable with nothing at all standing out from the crowd.
Maybe Serp vs Jose Amnesia - Second Day, but I never really saw the attrction of that song.

Posted by cmay119 on Apr-21-2006 06:48:

How about "Faithless - Insomnia"? I'm not aware of any other aliases he runs under, and I don't know of any other "hits" he has produced.

Posted by cmay119 on Apr-21-2006 06:50:

Here's another one. "ATC - Around the World" haven't heard a thing from that group since that song stopped playin'.

This is a joke right?

Faithless are one of the most consistent (and best) groups.

God is a DJ
We Come 1
Mass Destruction
Reverence
Salva Mea
One Step Too Far
Miss U Less See U More
Muhammed Ali
Take the Long Way Home

And Dido came from Faithless and launched a mega successful solo career (with the same writer as who is behind Faithless).

oh please for the love of god tell me YOU are joking!

Rollo = writer/producer and Dido's brother
black guy = Maxi Jazz

Posted by RebeL9 on Apr-21-2006 09:24:

haha so many stupid comments in this thread.
for god sake use DISCOGS and stop embarrasing yourself.

NO ATC did not only produce around the world. they even released an album.

NO Rollo is not the black guy in Faithless. Rollo is the white guy.

NO Der Dritte Raum is VERY NOT one hit wonders. They produced heaps of stuff and even released albums before Hale Bopp.

How about:

Unity 3 - The Age of Love Suite (Trance dub+Fantasy dub)
Meteor 7 - Universal Music (Especially the unreleased PVD remix)
Legend B - Lost in love

Legend B had tracks released before Lost in Love (even as far back as 1992) and after.
And they also produced under two other aliases (Cenith-X and Act of Fear).

Legend B - End of a Season (1993)

Meteor Seven released various tunes. And their latest one was released last year called Meteor Seven - Fascination.

I think some of the more 'leet members are confusing "one hit wonder' status with actual quantity of productions out there.

Pop stars like Chesny Hawkes, Rolf Harris, Vanilla Ice etc. All had multiple releases, but only made 1 true top of the charts hit.

Why then, do you debase others judgements because you can hit search in discogs and find multiple aliases/productions for these guys? It doesnt mean that all their productions were successful.

alot of the stuffs released by the groups mentioned in this thread were successfull but often within the particular country they were released in. for instance Jose Amnesia - Last Sunset in ibiza was well recieved in Germany but it wasn't untill The Eternal which was canned by PVD, Tiesto etc that he got a widespread hit.

From the very beginning, Binary Finary was only meant to be one track. One definitive, super track that is upgraded every year. It's members come and go, actually, and at one point there were five of them, and over the years different people have joined and left the outfit including Matt Darey and Paul van Dyk, but generally the core of the operation is Stuart Matheson and Matt Laws. They release stuff as Cloudbreak now.

Now that's a load of crap. Binary Finary were never a one track group, and PVD and Matt Darey have had nothing more to do with the name than that they remixed 1998. Other Binary Finary productions include Cryogen (B-Side to 1999), Anthemic and Niterider, as well as remixes of several other tracks, most notably Atlantis - Fiji. As I've said, there's a digital release album by them coming out soon. The reason why they've released work so sporadically over the years is that the original names behind BF (Matheson & Laws) were allegedly screwed over by label-mates or friends, who hijacked the alias for a couple of releases.

Ha. Faithless have sold over 12 million records including two UK Number One albums. Insomnia is one of no less than seven Top 10 hits they've had in their native country. As well as their main alias, Sister Bliss is a successful house DJ and produces stuff under that name. Rollo Armstrong is the (white) brother of Dido. Prior to starting Faithless his productions had sold about 5 million copies including remix work and the mega-hit Felix - Don't You Want Me, and he produces on Dido's albums. All of which adds up to probably 30 million records he's sold, making him arguably the most successful dance producer of his generation.

i wish g&d would of been a one hit wonder, and stopped their rubbish after as the rush comes :s

and he had those projects with Rob Dougan in his early days such as OT Quartet which had a pretty successful single (Hold That Sucker Down). not to mention their infamous remixes as Our Tribe and production work for pop stars (Kristine W - Feel What You Want). even though I wouldnt count that towards faithless' success he had hits before joining the group.

i don't see the meaning of counting one hit wonders in the edm community since charts and such doesn't work like that. because alot of producers go off and do what can only be described as "the one song/ep project" and if you would classify that thing as an one hit wonder then that's very fine & dandy with me

"Todd Sargent is a young producer from Vermont to watch out for. His productions have been going down a treat with the Release Records crew, so watch this space over the coming months. This is his first worldwide release, and certainly a great way to launch his career in dance music production. "
