Two, WTF are you talking about with Palestinians?!

Of course there is a Palestinian people and of course there is a place called Palestine. It is not a sovereign nation but it will be. The people of Palestine have lived there as long as the Jews. Do you think Christians and Muslims landed on earth 2000 and 1500 years ago?! Of course not, they were Jews converted. (Which means they were there as long as the Jews, in fact probably longer seeing as many Jews moved to Europe) No Palestinian language? Why do people say such rubbish?! Americans speak English does that mean they are English? Loads of countries share languages just like the entire Middle East speaks dialects of Arabic. There is no Syrian language but there is a Syrian state!

The reason there is no 'traditional' state in Palestine is purely because Israel has forbidden it so far. And if we wanna get technical Israel was only established in 1949 (I think!) so whats the difference between Israel then and Palestine now?

No favour is correct in the England and Canadian dialect.

No there isn't they are mostly Arabs.

Countries who speak English are mostly Anglo people. US just had huge waves of immigration.

Israel was around in ancient times too, then it was split in two, Israel and Judea. Judea is where modern Jews come from, hence they are called Jews not Israelis because Israel was conquered and the 10 tribes of that kingdom disappeared.

Israel doesn't care if there's a Palestinian state. Read your history for fucks sake. The British mandate of Palestine was supposed to be TWO states a Jewish one and an arabic one. and the ARABS rejected that idea, not the Jews, English, French, or the Americans and etc.

Middle East does NOT only speak Arabic, they speak Persian farsi, Turkish, etc.

Wrong on the Jews becoming Christians as well seeing as how, hi hello! Jews rejected the notion that Jesus Christ was the Messiah. And holy crap are you wrong on where the Jews lived, which was mostly ARABIC countries since they didn't mind them as much as Christians who slaughtered them and Muslims alike. proof? Jews join the invading and occupying Muslims in Muslim Spain, biggest example.

It's not a dialect!!! It's the Queen's English! The original!!

quote:

That's a race, not a nation, there are Arabs in every country in the Middle East, in Palestine there is the quasi-nationality of Palestinians, like in Jordan there is Jordinians etc

quote:

Not really. Probably true for the UK, Austrailia and New Zealand (plus Canada?) but don't think it's true for any of the others. Either way, it makes no difference to my point

quote:

Yea there were a lot of civilisations around in ancient times but not now...

If they don't care about whether or not there is a Palestinian state why isn't there one? It's in Israel's hands after all. And your last sentence over simplifies the situation and is a subject done to death on here so I won't start it again by countering it!!!

quote:

I was refering to national languages (otherwise you could say that for every country in the world), and as far as I am aware the only country in the Middle East not with Arabic as their official language is Israel

quote:

Obviously not ALL Jews converted to Christianity but the early Christians were Jewish (and were still refered to as Jews) Same when Islam emerged, somebody had to convert obviously!

And I don't understand what point of mine when you say I don't know where Jews lived? They originated in the Middle East (where Israel is, not from Egypt! Although if we wanna go by religious myth then maybe they should bugger off back to Egypt! ) then I think mainly moved to Europe (and from there to America)

Posted by Lepanto on Apr-26-2006 17:45:

Once again you're wrong on every subject and you're just trying to redeem yourself by shifting it to your own.

Jews lived in Muslims countries up until only a few centuries ago. Jews never originated in Egypt. Who the fuck cares where they originated at? They lived in Canaan, then set up their own kingdom there. And biblically...have you even SEEN a bible with your own eyes before? If going by the bible than Abraham came from a town somewhere in present day Yemen

For fucks sake you're almost as ignorant and uneducated to argue with as some of the other members here.

Which non-anglo countries speak English? Oh yeah...Jamaica doesn't count. the UK and the Commonwealth, Canada, and the US and that's it. Countries that do learn or widely speak it only do it because of the stance of Anglosphere in the world .

Ok it's the "original" English. you know words like "night" were probably spelled like "nyihte" during the old Chaucer days. So, saying that "favor" isn't the right way to spell it is insane. Especially since English is filled with words loaded with silent letters, not as much as French of example, ofcourse, but still alot.

Yes, you're right . Arabs are a race, Arabs live in Iraq, Saudi ARABIA, United ARAB Emirates, etc. And "palestian" was just another place they lived in.

Why isn't there one? Oh ok let's just group all our enemies together and keep giving them shit without them GIVING ANYTHING BACK...AT ALL . Sound strategy there.

And nope it hasn't been debated to bits. Anyone who isn't afraid to read the history of the subject will see it.

All i could tell your silly ass is this: WWW.WIKIPEDIA.COM or maybe even http://www.encyclopedia.com/

Well if that's correct where's your responses?

quote:
Jews lived in Muslims countries up until only a few centuries ago.

I'm not trying to say they haven't. But for the most part they shifted on (there are currently around 12 million Jews in the world, half in America)

quote:

Well it's relevent to say where Jews originated from, and where they moved to, when people use as an argument against a Palestinian state, that there has never been a Palestinian state, that Palestinians haven't lived there as long as the Jews and that Israel was in the Bible so they have a right to be there not Palestinians. When the decendents of the Palestinians have been there as long as the Jews and have for the main part stayed there all that time (unlike the Jews as I have been mentioning above)

quote:

Because I disagree with you?

quote:

America, all the African countries that speak English, India, the West Indies

Ok we'll end this "sub debate" here cos it was only supposed to be a joke in the first place!!!

quote:

Er yes, I think that's my point!!

quote:

Well that's a matter of opinion, one that nobody ever changes their mind on so I'm not even gonna bother!

You kiddin me?! There's a thread about 2 million pages long on the subject precisely BECAUSE it's been done to death!!!

Ok I tell you what I'm going to do, I'm going to simplify my posts and see if I can modify them into a series of yes/no questions that you might be able to understand...

1) Is there a group of people called "Palestinians"? (yes/no?)

2) Is there an area of land refered to as "Palestine" (yes/no?)

3) The people of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank's decedents have lived on that land as long as the original Jews (yes/no? if no where did they come from?)

4) As all countries (bar Israel) in the Middle East have Arabic as their official language, do you agree that it is unreasonable to suggest that no "Palestinian language" is evidence that there is no Palestinian nation simply because they speak Arabic (as every other country in the Middle East does)? (yes/no?)
