ok so the guy has confidence and cockiness but who gives a shit?
the club will definately be something else and hes proud of it
yes there is competition but sonic will always bring the crowd in no matter what, many people hate guv and hate the "clubdisrict".
also some of the dj's sonic has booked in the past and in the present will probably never get booked at the guv.
there are many pluses so stop all your useless whining about what he said in the paper.
I want to hear the "Best Sound" and see what hes all about, now that he lost his engineer, the guy who gave him that sound in Montreal.
But since he says its the best, and HIS name is Money, I expect nothing less than super spectacular.
When David says his name is money...all he means is that there is no budget for the perfect club. Sound is his #1 priority...and he has made it clear that he will spend anything to have the best. At Stereo in montreal he has constanly put in money to upgrade the sound / lights over the years, as well as other renovations. Here in T.O he has an opportunity to build the perfect club...and I am convinced it will be amazing. He may have lost shorty as sound engineer, but Stereo is surviving without him and so will Sonic...

the guy has had his sucesses. Yeah it was kind of crass how it was put, but his name is money and he has successful venues to back him up on that claim.
I hope he can do for toronto what stereo did for montreal.
I think crass as it may be, this comment will actually work to his advantage. Its causing extra publicity just in the amount people will be talking about it.
I'll bet for every person that gets turned off by his comment, there will be two who want to see what the hell he's bragging about.

Yeah, that's pretty cocky to say, but really, the man operates or at least used to operate stereo at a loss simply because he wanted that club to be his home away from home, and make it the best clubbing experience possible.
That being said, he's created a world reknowned club in that city where DJs around the world will put it on their lists of 'must play' simply to prove themselves in front of an eager, knowledgable and up for it crowd.
Yeah, so what if his comments rub people the wrong way? Stereo isn't for the timid, and sonic won't be either. It's going to be a club for those who know, not for the average 10-2 clubber, and none of those will be scared away because he runs his mouth.

i haven't been to stereo in a few months, but remember it usually sounding great...I say usually, cuz it did happen where dj's would get too aggressive in the booth and play it too loud, to the point of hurting your ears. Most of the resident dj's know how to play the system well

I am certainly not impressed with the bullshit coming out of that place so far. I really don't think most people are going to want to buy tickets on line, with a service charge, erevey week. Too much hastle!
I loved the old Boa for it's informal, simplistic setting where the music was number one.
Going to give this place a look on opening night and decide from there whether it will be my regular Saturday hang out!
p.s. Not surprised to read Morales comments...I hear he is quite the micro manager too!

the thing is toronto doesnt know a good thing when it sees it.
Weve been spoiled with countless world class clubs in the last 15 years yet all you ever hear are complaints and attitude. (unless its from a promoter of said establishment of course) I expect the same with this new place no matter how cool or shitty it may be.

It will be interesting to see how the numbers work. They will only be open one night a week, with no liquor...they will be relying only on "cover".
The Old Boa could not survive open two night a week, and let's face it, they always tried to bring in good talent over the two years they were in operation.
People in this town don't want to spend money on Cover like they do in other big cities...like Montreal for example and that could be a big problem for Sonic.
